🐾 Why Does My Pet Need a Doctor’s Exam Before Vaccines? 🐾

Meet adorable Vada! 💙 Like all of our new patients at Noah’s Ark, Vada received a doctor exam before receiving vaccines. We often get asked why an exam is required, especially if a pet was seen recently. Here’s why this step is so important:

Vaccines are considered a medical treatment, and your pet’s health can change quickly—especially puppies and kittens who grow and develop rapidly. Even if your pet was examined just a few weeks ago, our veterinarians need to ensure they are healthy enough to safely receive vaccines on the day they’re administered.

During this brief exam, your veterinarian will:
✔️ Check your pet’s heart and lungs
✔️ Evaluate temperature, hydration, and overall health
✔️ Look for signs of illness that may not be obvious at home
✔️ Assess growth and development in young pets
✔️ Discuss any concerns you’ve noticed since the last visit
✔️ Confirm the vaccine plan is still appropriate for your pet

Administering vaccines to a pet that is sick, running a fever, or experiencing another medical issue may not provide the best protection and could potentially complicate their care. A pre- intial vaccine exam helps us catch concerns early and ensures we’re providing the safest, most effective care possible.

At Noah’s Ark Veterinary Hospital, we never want vaccines to be treated as a quick transaction. We want every visit to be an opportunity to make sure your pet is healthy, thriving, and receiving the individualized care they deserve. ❤️

Have questions about your pet’s vaccine schedule? Our team is always happy to help!

🐾 Meet Nova & Reece! 🐾

Some friendships are just meant to be—and Nova and Reece are proof!

These two beautiful Rottweilers came in and were absolute rock stars during their visit. From their attentive expressions to their calm, loving personalities, they made quite the impression on our team.

We love seeing pets who are confident, comfortable, and ready for all the attention they can get. Nova and Reece handled their visit like pros and reminded us that even the biggest dogs can be the biggest sweethearts. ❤️

Thank you, Nova and Reece, for making our day a little brighter. We can’t wait to see you both again soon!

Welcome to the Noah’s Ark family, Cooper & Hobbes! 🐾💖

These adorable 14-week-old Sphynx kittens made their first visit full of curiosity, cuddles, and just a little bit of kitten mischief. 😸✨

Did you know? Sphynx cats may not have fur, but they still need regular skin care, ear cleanings, and routine veterinary visits to stay healthy. Because they don’t have a fluffy coat to absorb oils, their skin can get oily faster than other cats. Early wellness exams help us monitor growth, nutrition, skin health, and make sure kittens get started on the right paw for a long healthy life! 🩺🐱

And yes… naps are absolutely part of the treatment plan. 😴💕

Our Fear Free Certified team works hard to make first visits fun, gentle, and stress-free so pets can build positive experiences at the vet from the very beginning. 🐾

Have a new kitten or puppy at home? Don’t wait to schedule their first wellness visit! Preventive care starts early and makes all the difference. Call us today to get your newest family member started on a lifetime of healthy cuddles and happy adventures! 📞❤️
