Etowah Valley Humane Society Where best friends meet... The Etowah Valley Humane Society (EVHS) began in 1996, as an adoption outlet for Bartow County Animal Control.

In October of 2006, EVHS opened the doors of the new Shelter located at: 36 Ladds Mountain Road, in Cartersville, Georgia. EVHS is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, organized and existing under the laws of the State of Georgia. EVHS derives operating funds primarily from adoption fees, donations, membership fees, and fundraising events. Though EVHS has a paid staff, we rely heavily on the

efforts of volunteers. The business and affairs of the Society are managed by a Board of Directors, the members of which serve without compensation.

Rescue dogs have a special way of turning houses into homes. 🐾

This National Rescue Dog Day, we’re celebrating the incredible dogs who’ve found their way into loving forever homes, and the community that makes it all possible.

When you adopt, you’re not just gaining a walking buddy or a cozy couch companion. You’re giving a great homeless pet a second chance and helping us make room to care for another animal in need.
