🐾 Progress in Training Alert!

Today, Trainer Misty met Gloria and Carrie at the park to work on Carrie’s listening skills in a real-world environment.

Carrie worked with no training tools other than her Martingale collar. We practiced sit while the handler walked away, coming when called, down with the handler walking away, and recall with a dragging leash while several people were walking around the area.

We’re working toward reliable off-leash skills, and that starts with building consistency around everyday distractions.

Work in progress. While this is not 100% yet, Carrie is making progress and continuing to build the skills she needs for greater freedom and reliability.

🐾 Welcome Shaymus!

Today we welcomed Shaymus, a Yorkie/Terrier mix from Northeast Atlanta, Georgia.

Shaymus is here to work on potty training, reliable recall, and better listening while addressing barking, jumping, and unwanted behaviors around people, the cat, and household situations. We'll also be working on commands like "leave it" and "drop it," improving his response to boundaries, and helping him become more comfortable and confident around new people and children.

One fun fact about Shaymus is that he's incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loving. He's also spunky and playful, making him a wonderful companion with plenty of personality!

We're excited to help Shaymus and Jenna build a stronger relationship together while giving Shaymus the skills and confidence he needs to become a well-mannered and reliable companion.

🐾 Welcome Teddie & Ollie!

Today we welcomed Teddie and Ollie, two Great Pyrenees/Poodle mixes from Kennesaw, Georgia.

Teddie, 2 years old, and Ollie, 11 months old, are here to work on reliable recall, better listening, leash manners, and reducing barking and reactivity. We'll also be working on occasional potty issues and helping both dogs stay focused around distractions, especially when they're outside or responding to activity around the home.

One fun fact about Teddie and Ollie is that they have very different personalities. Ollie is more independent and usually calmer, while Teddie is more attention-seeking and loves being the center of attention. Both are incredibly affectionate, loving, intelligent, and full of personality!

We're excited to help Teddie, Ollie, Bill, and Karen build a stronger relationship together while giving both dogs the skills they need to become more reliable and well-mannered companions.

🎓 Congratulations to Remi and his pawrents, Abbey and Cameron, on graduating from Alan’s K9 Academy!

Remi, a Siberian Goldendoodle from Woodstock, Georgia, started training as a typical puppy with potty accidents, plenty of puppy mouthing, and lots of jumping. Fast forward to today, and this boy has truly grown into a distinguished gentleman!

Throughout his Puppy Fundamentals training, Remi built confidence in a variety of environments, from the park to Home Depot. He can now reliably perform his foundational obedience skills in different settings, giving him the tools he needs to continue growing into a well-mannered adult dog.

Remi’s progress is a great example of what consistent training, clear communication, and daily practice can accomplish. Just as important was the commitment from Abbey and Cameron. Their dedication to continuing his training at home played a huge role in helping Remi succeed.

We couldn't be more proud of how far this sweet boy has come. Congratulations to Remi, Abbey, and Cameron on this exciting milestone! Keep up the great work, and we can't wait to see all the progress still ahead. 💙💛🐾

🐾 Welcome Zoey!

Today we welcomed Zoey, a German Shepherd from Cartersville, Georgia.

Zoey is here to work on improving her obedience, reducing jumping and barking, and building confidence and appropriate behavior around other dogs. We'll also be working on resource guarding and helping Zoey learn to remain calm and focused in situations where she may feel the need to protect Gwen.

One fun fact about Zoey is that she's an absolute sweetheart. Gwen loves everything about her, and we're excited to help Zoey build the confidence and social skills she needs to enjoy being around other dogs.

We're excited to help Zoey and Gwen build a stronger relationship together while giving Zoey the skills she needs to become a more confident and well-mannered companion.

🎓 Congratulations to Jasper and his pawrent, Tara, on graduating from Alan’s K9 Academy!

Jasper, a Siberian Husky from Hiram, Georgia, came to us with a simple but important goal: Tara wanted to give her boy a strong foundation before heading off to college. Jasper had also been getting into some minor squabbles with the other dog in the home, so building better communication and obedience was especially important. Tara hoped to take Jasper with her to college, and she wanted to know they could confidently navigate life together.

When we first met Jasper, he knew exactly one command: “Sit.” That was it! But that was all we needed to get started.

From there, Jasper opened up to a whole new world of communication and obedience. He learned down, come, touch, leave it, drop it, place, and even how to sit and lie down at a distance.

The transformation has been incredible. Jasper is now more focused, confident, and responsive. He can go to the park and enjoy a peaceful walk without dragging Tara in every direction. Instead, he can calmly walk beside her and enjoy the experience, becoming the kind of companion she hoped he could be.

Jasper worked hard, Tara put in the time, and together they made an incredible team. We're so proud of how much he accomplished in such a short time!

Congratulations to Tara and Jasper on their well-earned graduation! Your journey is just beginning, buddy. 💙💛🐺
