🐾 Welcome Diesel! 🐾

Meet Diesel, a 13-month-old German Shepherd and Husky mix with a fun, goofy personality and a strong bond with his family. He’s an energetic companion who loves being involved, but as he continues to mature, there are several behaviors that need structure and guidance.

Diesel struggles with counter surfing, stealing shoes and laundry to chew on, barking at neighbors, and jumping on guests for attention. He can also become mouthy during grooming or petting sessions. On walks, unfamiliar objects like trash cans or bags can make him fearful, although his family has been working to build his confidence through exposure. Like many high-energy working breeds, Diesel also experiences intense “zoomies” and has a very strong prey drive, especially toward deer along the fence line, making recall a major priority.

His pawrents, Carol and Scott, are hoping to improve Diesel’s recall no matter the distraction level and help him become calmer and safer around people—especially their young granddaughters. Their goal is to reduce the jumping and mouthiness while building stronger obedience and impulse control. With consistency, clear communication, and confidence-building training, Diesel can learn to channel his energy appropriately and become a more focused, reliable companion 💙💛

Meet Winston 🐾❤️

This 10-week-old Double Doodle has officially started his training journey with Alan’s K9 Academy — and he has a very special future ahead of him! Winston is living at AdventHealth and beginning with strong puppy training foundations before advancing into specialized therapy dog training.

Right now, our focus is on:
✅ Chewing cessation
✅ Following commands consistently
✅ Fine-tuning potty training and focus
✅ Leash manners and engagement
✅ Building confidence in new environments

As Winston progresses, we’ll begin desensitizing him to hospital noises, sirens, medical equipment, and busy environments so he can confidently work toward becoming a calm, reliable therapy dog for patients and staff. 🏥🐶

Winston is already showing incredible potential with his gentle temperament, calm demeanor, and eagerness to learn. His owners’ goal is to develop him into a therapy dog that can bring comfort and support to others every single day.

At Alan’s K9 Academy, we specialize in:
✔️ Puppy Training
✔️ Therapy Dog Preparation
✔️ Obedience Training
✔️ Leash Training
✔️ Behavior Modification
✔️ Family Dog Training

If you’re looking for professional dog training in Bartow County, Calhoun, Cartersville, Rome, Canton or the surrounding North Georgia area, we’d love to help you build the dog you’ve always wanted.

Some of the best transformations are the ones that give dogs more freedom and confidence to enjoy life with their families. 🐾💙

This sweet pup went from being nervous and unsure to becoming an off-leash adventurer thanks to the work put in by both Misty and his owner. Now he gets to enjoy hikes, climbing adventures, and exploring the outdoors with confidence right alongside his family. ⛰️🐶

That’s what training is all about — creating better communication, more trust, and more opportunities to experience life together safely.

We love hearing how much joy this has brought to both dog and owner, and we’re so proud of the progress they’ve made together. Great work, Friday and Misty! 🙌✨

🐾 Welcome Honey! 🐾

Meet Honey, a 7-month-old Labrador who loves her toys and proudly greets people with one in her mouth. She’s playful, affectionate, and full of personality, but as she continues to grow, there are some behaviors that need guidance and structure.

Honey struggles with listening consistently and resisting transitions, especially when it’s time to get into vehicles or go into her pen. When she feels pressured or anxious about being crated or left alone, she may hide where she can’t be reached and react by growling or biting when picked up. Along with jumping, chewing, digging, and barking, these behaviors suggest she’s having difficulty coping with frustration and certain forms of handling.

Her pawrents, Hartley and Jessica, are hoping to build strong general obedience while helping Honey become more comfortable entering vehicles and transitioning calmly into her pen. With patience, confidence-building, and clear communication, Honey can learn healthier ways to handle stress and become a more responsive and relaxed companion 💙💛

🐾 Welcome Jasper! 🐾

Meet Jasper, a 1-year-old Siberian Husky who is goofy, adorable, and full of energy. He keeps his mom busy and entertained, and it’s clear they share a very strong bond. As he continues to mature, there are a few behaviors that need guidance so he can become a more balanced and manageable companion.

Jasper struggles with jumping on people, chewing and pulling on clothing while it’s being worn, and pulling very hard on the leash during walks. He has also shown resource guarding behaviors around high-value items, small toys, and sometimes food or water. When restrained on a leash indoors, he tends to whine constantly, showing frustration or difficulty settling. These behaviors are common in high-energy working breeds but require consistency and structure to improve.

His supportive furmom, Tara, is hoping to build a strong foundation in basic obedience while helping Jasper develop more positive interactions with other dogs. With clear communication, proper outlets for his energy, and confidence-building training, Jasper can learn healthier ways to manage excitement and become a more focused companion 💙💛

Winston has done an amazing job on working with David and Rachel on learning how to see people as positive reward. 🐾

This little guy has made a 180° turn around with his behavior and the way I’ve explained how to let him see people as positive. We have been to parks, we have went to Lowe’s department store, they have practice they do need to practice more. ✨

Otherwise Winston has achieved being able to walk by people without barking insanely at them. When he sees other dogs, he is actually looking at the dog and looking back at his owner and learning to accept there’s another dog and walk by without having any kind of negative reaction. 🦮

Winston has learned basic obedience while he is slow at it. His parents know they have to continue practicing. He has achieved learning the words sit, down, come, heel, quiet, free and leave it.

Can’t wait to see this little guy in group class. 💙💛

🐾 Welcome Scotty! 🐾

Meet Scotty, a 4-year-old Golden Labrador mix who is affectionate, obedient, and clearly loved by his family. He has a sweet nature and a strong bond with his people, but there are a few behaviors that need guidance to help him feel more confident around other dogs.

When out on walks and approaching another dog, Scotty becomes overly excited and may growl, even if he doesn’t bark. Because his history with other dogs is unknown, his family has been cautious about interactions and is concerned about what appears to be distance-based aggression or reactivity. These reactions are often tied to uncertainty, overstimulation, or frustration and are important to address carefully and consistently.

His loving and dedicated pawrents, Tina and Bill, are hoping to help Scotty become more socialized and comfortable around other dogs while also reducing barking and pawing behaviors. With structure, confidence-building, and controlled exposure, Scotty can learn to stay calmer and more focused during walks and social situations 💙💛
