🐾 Welcome Diesel! 🐾
Meet Diesel, a 13-month-old German Shepherd and Husky mix with a fun, goofy personality and a strong bond with his family. He’s an energetic companion who loves being involved, but as he continues to mature, there are several behaviors that need structure and guidance.
Diesel struggles with counter surfing, stealing shoes and laundry to chew on, barking at neighbors, and jumping on guests for attention. He can also become mouthy during grooming or petting sessions. On walks, unfamiliar objects like trash cans or bags can make him fearful, although his family has been working to build his confidence through exposure. Like many high-energy working breeds, Diesel also experiences intense “zoomies” and has a very strong prey drive, especially toward deer along the fence line, making recall a major priority.
His pawrents, Carol and Scott, are hoping to improve Diesel’s recall no matter the distraction level and help him become calmer and safer around people—especially their young granddaughters. Their goal is to reduce the jumping and mouthiness while building stronger obedience and impulse control. With consistency, clear communication, and confidence-building training, Diesel can learn to channel his energy appropriately and become a more focused, reliable companion 💙💛
