My name is Chris, and I've been serving horses, donkeys, cattle, pigs and goats in North Georgia since 2021.

I'm not just the farrier who shows up every six weeks, I'm a buddy to every animal I lay hands on. I've found this approach has saved me a lot of stress and headaches and propelled my success in safely working with equines.

How to safely pick up a hind foot. Please, be careful but don't let the hind end of a horse intimidate you.

Keeping the leg straight and relative to the horse's frame and holding the leg at a height off the ground comfortable for that particular horse will go a long way.
