🐾 Teaching the “Back” Command!

This is one of the ways I shape the behavior of backing up. Some dogs catch on quickly, while others need the behavior broken down into smaller steps. Every dog learns differently!

Why teach “Back”?

🐾 Personal Space: Teaches dogs to move away instead of crowding you.

🐾 Doorways: Helps prevent dogs from rushing through doors or crowding entrances.

🐾 Impulse Control: Teaches dogs to respond to direction instead of pushing forward.

🐾 Everyday Manners: Useful when your dog is underfoot, crowding guests, or getting too close while you're preparing food.

🐾 Body Awareness: Helps dogs learn to move their bodies backward, improving coordination and confidence.

“Back” is more than just a trick! It's a practical life skill that teaches dogs how to give space and respond to clear communication.

Remember, training isn't about how quickly a dog learns. It's about breaking behaviors down so they can succeed! 🐶

Stay tuned for the final result

🐾 Calm on the Mat: Helping Anxious Dogs Relax

Katie is an anxious girl who has a hard time settling on her own. She's often on alert and struggles to simply relax.

That's why we're working on Calm on the Mat! ❤️

This exercise helps anxious dogs:

🐾 Build confidence and feel secure

🐾 Learn to relax instead of staying on alert

🐾 Develop better emotional regulation

🐾 Settle without constant attention

🐾 Learn that it's okay to just do nothing!

The goal isn't just a dog who lies down. It's a dog who can truly relax.

For Katie, we're building that skill one calm moment at a time! 🐶💕
