Otis and Rachele almost died in birth, and Otis was born not breathing. He was in the NICU while they were separated at different hospitals. Rachele was leaking spinal fluid causing nerve pain in her legs and back, which forced her to close her business to recover and care for their baby. They lost their home a couple months later to a roof leak which led to hidden mold, and they lost most of their belongings. They had to rehome their dogs and ended up displaced, moving in temporarily with family.
After Christmas, they were in a terrible car accident where Otis and Rachele were hit by an uninsured driver who fell asleep at the wheel, totaling their truck. It brought so much loss, tears, heartbreak, and fear for what was next. Their entire life came crumbling down. They purchased a trailer with plans to turn it into a tiny home. The dealership agreed to reseal the trailer in the purchase agreement, but failed to do so. Two weeks after bringing the trailer home, the whole bedroom flooded due to recent rain. The dealership refused to fix it. Upon opening the walls to try to fix it themselves, they discovered mold that made it uninhabitable and caused health effects. They have been staying with family, but their time is up on that.
Now, Rachele, Brooks, Otis, and Vivian are in urgent need of help to find a safe place to call home. These are wonderful, hardworking people who have been hit really hard in life and could really use help in finding a home. Any support would mean the world to them as they try to rebuild and find stability for their family
