🎉 WE HAVE HUGE NEWS! 🎉

We are incredibly thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a $50,000 grant from the CDFA Pet Lover's License Plate Program! 🐾💛

What does this mean for your home? It means there are officially zero excuses left to keep those cats unaltered! Starting June 1st, we are launching a brand new BOGO Cat Spay/Neuter Program for owned cats living in the same household. 🐱✨

How it works: Bring in two cats from your household—pay for the first cat's surgery, and we will cover the cost of the second one!

If you’ve been putting off getting your pets fixed because of the cost, this is your sign. Spaying and neutering keeps your cats healthier, stops unwanted behaviors, and prevents accidental litters.

📅 Mark your calendars: The program officially begins on June 1st, which is also the exact day our July scheduling opens!

Slots will fill up incredibly fast. Head to the link below on June 1st to secure your appointments!

Apricot is still too young to be with the older chickens at night so the bathroom is where you will find him. 😅

This is why spay and neuter / spay aborts are personal. SPAY always.

Grief is weird. What do you mean? I know he’s not coming back, but I can’t for the life of me clear his cancer meds.

The day I knew would be his last, I filled his weekly med tray like any ordinary day. I didn’t want his last day to be different from the others just because I knew the time had come.

If I’m being honest, since Whiskey’s passing, I feel like a bad mom to our off-site animals. I can’t bear going there daily, and I only ever open the tack room if I absolutely have to. I have a halter and lead rope ready to use outside.

I can’t fathom my life without Whiskey, even after nine months have gone by. Even writing this, I get sick to my stomach. I think Whiskey was the hardest hit because, through all my losses in six months, the one thing I did have was my Whiskey boy, defeating the odds, surviving with cancer for two years. When I lost everything I had, I had him, until I didn’t. Which then made everything so surreal.

I hope one day I will be reunited with all my babies and all the lives I helped save. Until then, I will live in my sadness.

In the egg industry, male chicks are typically killed shortly after hatching because they do not lay eggs and are not raised for meat. This practice happens out of public view inside hatcheries, with millions of chicks affected each year in the United States.

Massachusetts has now passed a law that links egg sales in the state to the future use of technology that can identify a chick’s s*x before it hatches. The aim is to avoid bringing male chicks into the world only to kill them hours later, once this technology becomes widely available and practical.

The law does not create an immediate ban, but it marks the first legal step in the country focused on reducing this specific practice and raises broader questions about animal welfare and food production.
