Thank you all for your condolences on the loss of my first bottle baby goat, Kody.

Finding him was such a traumatic experience. I had seen him just 12 hours earlier at dinner, and the next morning, while saying good morning to all my beautiful babies, I found his body.

Kody had lived in sanctuary since he was just 3 days old, when we rescued him from a dairy farm. He knew nothing but kindness and love. He was happy the last time I saw him, and I hope his passing during the night was peaceful. A happy life full of love, followed by a peaceful goodbye, is something we all wish for those we love.

My heart screams because I have lost so much. I keep reminding myself that Kody truly lived a full, beautiful life. But knowing that doesn’t make losing him hurt any less. 🤍

We are still trying to raise the funds to cover his cremations.

Dear Kody and Liam,

I hope you are finding solace in being reunited again. My soul aches. So much of my heart has been lost these past 23 months.

At this point, being resilient doesn’t feel like a choice. I have so many other children counting on me, just as both of you once did. So I keep going, even with a broken heart.

Thank you for letting me be your momma in this lifetime. I only wish we’d had more time. Momma loves you always.🤍

My sweet senior boy Kody was found unresponsive at 6 AM. At 10½ years old, he passed away in the night, in the corner of the animals’ shelter, surrounded by his loved ones.

To be honest, I was not expecting this. Just 12 hours earlier, I saw him happy and eating his dinner. My body screams with grief. So much loss, yet life keeps asking me to keep going.

There is something beautiful in knowing Kody spent his final night in his home, among his family. A long life he may never have had the chance to live if I hadn’t saved him and his brother Liam in early spring of 2016. I need to remember that. We had a decade filled with love.

My first bottle babies have been reunited. Together, where they belong. 🤍

Kody’s end-of-life services cost $531.07.

If you are able to help cover these final expenses for Kody, I can’t thank you enough. Thank you for loving the lives we save and helping us care for them, all the way to goodbye.
