We are mostly foster-based, but we have some kitties staying in Carmel at Petco and at Pawz Pet Cafe, and in Kokomo at Pet Supplies Plus! ***ALL AVAILABLE CATS***

icrochipped, up-to-date on their FVRCP (distemper) vaccines, and given general de-wormer. Most of our cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and rabies shots are given to most cats over 3 months old. Since we are a foster-based rescue, most of them are with a foster but there are always many the Carmel Petco Adoption Room (off 116th & Keystone) AND at Pawz Pet Cafe. For the foster cats, meetings can be arranged to meet the kitty of your dreams!

***We also bring in new groups of cats and kittens to Petco most Saturdays!!!!*** Come meet our furry friends, wonderful volunteers, and head Cat Rescue Lady, Martha Strong.

We work in Hamilton, Marion, and Delaware Counties, and many places in between. We do NOT support or allow declawing of our cats. We often have cats that come to us already declawed and can consider placing them in a family that prefers a declaw. Declawing often leads to behavior issues such as aggression and improper litter box habits, as well as stress on the cats’ feet and legs. We offer free nail trims for our adoptees at the Carmel Petco most Saturday afternoons. Our rescue's cats and kittens have led a mostly difficult life, so we require them to be indoor cats. Volunteers have come in for Saturdays!

Paws on my Heart Rescue has a special
need. Every Saturday from noon-4:00 we hold an adoption event. This is held at Carmel Petco at 116th and Keystone. We need a volunteer to come in about 3:30 for two hours or so to welcome potential adopters. You would be able to
connect with one of our regular volunteers if there are questions or to run the process of adoptions. Simply your presence can help many more kittens and cats to find homes. And you can get your kitten fix at the same time.

We are so excited to be able to find homes for several of these babies that didn't have a chance at a forever home. They will be at Petco on 116th and Keystone at noon today. Come in and see them. We are needing a volunteer for Thursday morning, May 14th, 2026. We have a family of kittens and a mama that need to go to Lebanon to the Veterinary Clinic there. They need to be dropped off between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. the Foster has to work and has no way to get them there. She lives around 146 and Hazel Dell. If you might be able to transport this little family, that would be fantastic. Please text Martha at 765-730-0679 if you would be able to help get them to the vet clinic. Please let me know if you are able to help us

Kiki needs a real home….

And not on the streets, and not in a car where her homeless owner kept her for some time, or a shelter, or a rescue. Kiki needs a home with a window for watching birds and squirrels and a bed and a family that will love her dearly. Kiki was a stray. When she was expecting kittens, she had to be given a cesarean! Following that surgery, a hernia developed so she needed another surgery. As if that were not enough, another hernia developed so little Kiki headed back to surgery. Now Kiki has healed and is waiting at Carmel Petco on 116th Street to be adopted. This lovely girl is only two! She is friendly and loving and will bring joy to some lucky family. Can it be yours?

A special guy with a special wish…..

So here we have possibly the most difficult to adopt boy in our rescue- TOOTHLESS. Life is hard on a stray kitty. Survival is no guarantee. But this special boy has survived so much, and he deserves a family to call his own. You see his family moved out and left him homeless. Toothless has some medical conditions that have been treated by a vet. He often has cold symptoms. He is also deaf. And did I mention he is 14 years old? And with just two teeth, canned food suits him fine! Oh and let’s throw in the fact that he needs a quiet place where he can receive love away from other pets who may get in his space. You know, when you can’t hear, you don’t want another cat or dog sneaking up on you. Just look at his face and the pleading in his eyes for one more chance for a family. For one more chance to have a window to watch for birds. For one more chance to welcome each day being loved. He will return the love in his own way, and his people will feel the rewards. Please let us know when you can meet this blessing.
