Tyche and I shared a lovely one-on-one moment. She purred happily as I scratched behind her ears and along her back, leaning into my touch before settling in for a warm, cozy cuddle. It was such a sweet time together. Sharon Jones

Kiwi and I are building a little more of a bond each day, but make no mistake—she runs this relationship. Churu helps my approval rating, but Kiwi still reviews my credentials daily. Every little bit of trust she gives me feels extra special, and I’m so proud of how far we’ve come. Sharon Jones

Well, another lizard met its match at the dog park this afternoon, and Sherlock is showing absolutely no remorse.

I told him he’s going to get a terrible reputation around here as the evil lizard killer. I actually caught the poor little guy and was getting ready to toss him safely over the fence when Sherlock launched himself into the air and grabbed him right out of my hand.

Those jaws of steel are apparently faster than Sharon, his Pet Sitter. I managed to get the lizard away from those jaws of steel and still tossed it over the fence, hoping it was just stunned and might live to see another day.

Meanwhile, Sherlock strutted away looking mighty proud of himself, like he had just performed an important public service.

Tyche sure does love her “lovins,” as we call them. Once the lovins start, she’s not about to let me stop. She soaks up every scratch and cuddle like they were specifically scheduled just for her. Tyche is such a sweetheart and has definitely trained her pet sitter well. Sharon Jones

Kiwi is staying out with me more during this visit, and that makes my heart so happy. I told Tyche to have a little talk with her and let her know I’m someone she can trust. It looks like Tyche put in a good word for me.

With a cautious kitty like Kiwi, every little step means so much. I’m letting her set the pace, and seeing her feel a little safer and more comfortable with me each visit is truly special. Sharon Jones

Loke and Lauren are having a fun morning together during their drop-in visit. Loke has made sure Lauren knows the morning schedule: plenty of attention, a little playtime, and, of course, whatever Loke decides should happen next. He’s clearly in charge of today’s agenda. Sharon Jones

After a restful overnight with Sandi, Finn and Mike are up and ready for the day. Finn looks like he’s already planning their next big adventure, while Mike seems to be weighing his options carefully—breakfast, mischief, or a little more lounging. Decisions, decisions. The lizard has officially been rescued and safely relocated over the fence. It will live to see another day.

Sherlock, however, is still conducting a full investigation. He’s searched high and low and cannot understand how his suspect simply vanished. Sorry, Detective Sherlock—the lizard has entered the Witness Protection Program. Sharon Jones

Kiwi and Tyche are rescue kitties who have always been together. Tyche has warmed up to me and decided I’m officially friend material. Kiwi is still conducting her background check.

We’ve made progress, but everything happens strictly on Kiwi’s timeline. Then I bring out the Churu and suddenly my application gets moved to the top of the pile. She enjoys every bite, gives me another careful look, and reevaluates whether I might be worth keeping around.

I’m cautiously optimistic my approval is pending. Sharon Jones
