𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔, 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒆 𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒕𝒔. ❤️

Before Brave came into his life, Sean needed to buy 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 at the movies—one for himself and an empty seat on 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐢𝐦 so he could feel safe.

His goal was simple: 𝐠𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬.

Within the first 100 days after graduation, Sean and his young son have gone to the movies multiple times.

And every time, Sean bought just 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬.

One for him.
One for his son.

𝐍𝐨 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝.

And that's not all.

Sean has also reached another milestone that once felt out of reach—he is now able to 𝐠𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 instead of relying on online grocery orders.

These may seem like ordinary things.

But they aren't ordinary for Sean.

They represent 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦. 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤.

Sometimes, the victories that look smallest to the world are the ones that mean everything. 🐾🇺🇸

Got an update yesterday.

No words needed to show how peaceful life has become in the last 100 days since going home with his dog.

September is about service. And it is about hope.

September is both National Service Dog Month and Su***de Prevention Month. At This Able Veteran, those two observances have a very real connection.

A PTSD service dog is trained to recognize anxiety, interrupt nightmares, provide grounding, create space, and help a veteran navigate moments that can feel overwhelming.

But look at this photo.

What you see is more than a trained service dog.

You see trust. Connection. Partnership. Hope.

That relationship doesn't happen overnight. It takes 18–24 months of dedicated training and care to prepare one of our dogs for the veteran who will one day hold the other end of the leash.

And we provide it at no cost to the veteran.

This September, you can be part of making the next partnership possible.

Whether you make a one-time gift or become a monthly donor, your gift helps us put a highly trained service dog beside a veteran who is working to reconnect with life, family, community—and hope.

You don't have to fund an entire service dog to change a life.
You just have to be part of the journey.

Connection. Resilience. Hope.

🐾 Happy National Dog Day!

Not to be biased, but this is one of our favorite days of the year!

We’re celebrating all the amazing pups who bring so much love, joy, and purpose into our lives.

📸 Share a picture of your pup in the comments! We want to see them!
