We had to hop on the trend!

“ The Warning

Before you meet me, there are a few things you should know.

I will probably care too much. I will probably take in the animal everyone else walked past. I will fight for the dog that has no voice, make room for the cat that has nowhere else to go, and somehow convince myself that one more foster is manageable.

I will get attached. I will lose sleep. I will worry about animals that technically aren’t mine anymore. I will spend money I probably shouldn’t, give away things I probably needed, and celebrate tiny victories like they’re miracles.

I will also ask questions you might not expect: Are they safe? Are they loved? What happened to them? Who failed them? What can we do now?

And if you hurt an animal—or someone who is simply trying to keep theirs safe—you will see a side of me that doesn’t back down easily.

So consider yourself warned.

I’m not building Shae’s Strays because I think I can save every animal.

I’m building it because I refuse to believe that being helpless means being hopeless.

Shae’s Strays is a foster-based animal rescue dedicated to keeping pets and families together. We provide temporary foster care for pets whose owners are facing domestic violence, homelessness or other emergencies.

Sometimes, the person who needs our help may be sitting right in your shop, looking for a way to keep their beloved pet safe.

Would you be willing to keep a few Shae’s Strays flyers or business cards at your business? 🐾

If you own or manage a local business and think our services could benefit someone who walks through your doors, please reach out to us! We’d be happy to drop off flyers/business cards for you to share.

You never know when one small flyer could be the information that helps someone realize they don’t have to choose between their own safety and the safety of their pet. 💜

Hip hip hooray, Drogo went home today!!!

We are SO relieved that this sweet boy is finally able to be reunited with his mama, right where he belongs. 🥹💗

Drogo was one of our very first canine fosters and spent a total of 9 months and 6 days with us. Saying goodbye was definitely bittersweet, but knowing he is finally HOME makes every second of those 9 months worth it.

His mom never stopped thinking about him. She worked consistently, tirelessly, and incredibly hard to get to a place where she could safely bring him home. And today, she finally did it.

This is truly one of our biggest success stories. Words cannot express how proud we are of her for making it through everything, building a safe life for herself, and being able to bring her baby home. Watching her journey from the beginning to this moment has been something incredibly special to witness.

This is exactly why Shae’s Strays exists. We believe no one should have to choose between their safety and the pets they love. Sometimes, temporary shelter and a little bit of time is all a family needs to get back on their feet and be reunited.

So today, we celebrate Drogo going HOME.
Welcome home, sweet boy. You were loved every single day you were with us, and you always will be.

Please keep them in your thoughts as they have an extremely long journey home 💜
