Each year, we reflect on our camp programs and look for ways to make the experience even better for our campers, our horses, and the families who make camp possible. Based on what we have observed over the past 28 years, we are making a few thoughtful changes to our Residential and Day Camp schedules.
๐ก ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฝ: ๐ ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐ณ๐๐น ๐๐น๐ผ๐๐ฒ
Residential Camp will now conclude at ๐ฏ:๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ฃ๐ , with a special closing gathering beginning at ๐ฎ:๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ฃ๐ . In the past, our final riding showcase often became the primary focus of the last afternoon. While families enjoyed watching, we found that campers sometimes moved from their final ride directly into packing, greeting family members, and heading home without really having an opportunity to close out their week together.
๐ ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฝ ๐ถ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ ๐บ๐๐ฐ๐ต ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด.
Friendships are formed, confidence grows, memories are made, and campers become part of a very special little community during their time here. We want to protect time at the end of the week for campers to reflect, celebrate what they accomplished, say goodbye to one another and the horses, and bring their camp experience to a meaningful close.
๐น ๐ ๐ก๐ฒ๐ ๐ช๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ๐ถ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ
We will also be changing the way families enjoy the campers' final riding experience. Rather than having an in-person audience for the final ride, we will livestream it for families to watch.
Over time, we have found that having a large audience around the arena can understandably change the energy of that final ride. Riders may become more distracted or focused on who is watching, and horses can also respond to the additional activity. Livestreaming allows families to still share in this special moment while giving campers the opportunity to enjoy their final ride in the familiar camp environment they have experienced all week.

Our Day Camp schedule will also be changing to ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต ๐ง๐ต๐๐ฟ๐๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ ๐ต:๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐๐ โ๐ฏ:๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ฃ๐ . Rather than having campers attend more days for shorter periods, this schedule gives us four fuller days together. Campers will have more time each day to ride, learn, participate in activities, build friendships, and settle into the rhythm of camp without feeling as rushed.
The four-day schedule also helps reduce cumulative fatigue for both campers and horses. Horses work hard during camp weeks, and thoughtful scheduling allows us to continue putting their comfort and well-being first. Campers benefit as well, with fewer consecutive days of early mornings, busy schedules, and physical activity.
For families, the new schedule also means one less day of commuting, while campers actually gain more meaningful time with us during each camp day.
๐น Day Campers will also have their final riding experience livestreamed for families, allowing riders to remain focused and giving the horses a quieter arena environment.
๐ On ๐ง๐ต๐๐ฟ๐๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ:๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ฃ๐ , we will come together for a closing gathering before camp concludes at ๐ฏ:๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ฃ๐ . This will give campers the same opportunity to celebrate their week, recognize their accomplishments, spend a little final time together, and leave camp feeling that their experience has truly come full circle.
๐ These changes are all being made with the same goal that guides everything we do at ๐ง๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ป: creating a camp experience that is safe, meaningful, fun, and memorable for our campers while honoring the horses who make these experiences possible and making camp work well for the families who entrust their children to us.

Activities can guiding a horse through a challenge, but may also be a time to simply slow down and notice how the horse respond. Julie has earned certifications in this learning, as well a grief coaching, to assist participants in reflecting on their own experiences and connecting what they discover to everyday life.

For 28 years, you have supported Triple Crown Horsemanship Camp, trusted us with your children, shared your love of horses, and helped make this place so special. We are grateful for every camper, family, staff member, and friend who has been part of our story. Some of you have been part of our family even prior to camp beginning - horses are our life, our family, and each of you are as well!
Some of the greatest gifts of these years have been the friendships formed and the new โfamilyโ we welcome each year. Watching campers grow, seeing familiar faces return, and welcoming new ones reminds us how much there is to treasure here. We have campers and lesson students from the past now bringing their children to camp and lessons.
