🍂🐾 FALL IN LOVE THIS OCTOBER! 🐾🍂

There’s something special about fall... cooler weather, colorful leaves, pumpkin everything - and maybe, just maybe, meeting the four-legged best friend you didn’t know you were missing. ❤️

On Saturday, October 3rd from 11 AM-2 PM, Petsense Cape Carteret is partnering with the Carteret County Humane Society for our Fall Adopt-A-Thon! 🐶🐱

There will be some amazing dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens hoping that someone walks through our doors, looks into their eyes, and says the words they’ve been waiting to hear:

“You’re coming home with me.” 🏠❤️

These animals aren’t asking for much. A warm bed. A full belly. Someone to love them. And perhaps permission to completely take over your couch, steal your blankets, leave hair on everything you own, and somehow convince you that your side of the bed is actually theirs. 😂🐾

But what they give back is worth every bit of it - unconditional love, companionship, goofy moments, tail wags, purrs, and a best friend who will think you’re pretty much the greatest person on Earth.

Our Fall Adopt-A-Thon is Saturday, October 3, from 10 AM-4 PM. Stop by your local Petsense to meet adoptable pets and find your new best friend. We’re partnering with local shelters and rescues to help pets find loving homes.

🐾Who you’ll meet: Adoptable dogs, cats and small animals from participating shelters and rescues. Pets vary by location.

🐾❤️ PLEASE... LET TODAY BE KILO REN’S DAY. ❤️🐾

Kilo Ren is 8 years old, and somehow, after spending years knowing what it felt like to have a home, he now finds himself waiting in a shelter.

And that’s the part that breaks our hearts. 💔

He isn't asking for much. He doesn't need a huge yard, fancy toys, or some grand adventure. He just needs someone to choose him.

Someone to give him a soft bed.
Someone whose footsteps he can recognize coming through the door.
Someone to scratch that perfect little head and tell him, “You're home now, buddy.” ❤️

Kilo Ren is neutered, vaccinated, incredibly sweet, and at his age, he's already figured out the important things in life: love your people, appreciate a good nap, and never turn down a snack. 😂❤️

Senior dogs are special. They may have a little gray around the muzzle and move a little slower, but somehow they seem to love even harder.

Kilo Ren shouldn't spend his golden years watching families walk past his kennel.

He should be somebody's family.

🐾💗 MEET KATNISS - PROFESSIONAL HEART STEALER! 💗🐾

Katniss came to the shelter as a stray on August 24th, but this beautiful 2-year-old girl is ready to stop wandering and finally find the place she belongs. 🏡❤️

Katniss is sweet, affectionate, and absolutely LOVES attention. Basically, if you have two hands available for petting, she sees no reason either one should be taking a break.
She is now current on her vaccinations, and has a whole lot of love saved up for whoever is lucky enough to take her home.

Just look at that picture-she already looks like she's sitting there thinking, “Okay... which one of you is taking me home?” 🥹❤️

Katniss doesn't need anything fancy. She just needs a family, a comfy place to sleep, plenty of belly rubs, and someone who will never let her feel like a stray again.

💕 She entered the shelter without a home. Let's make sure she doesn't wait long to leave with one.

🐾 MEET LITTLE MAN - BIG HEART, BIG PERSONALITY! ❤️

Little Man is an 8 month old pup and has been waiting since July 3rd for someone to look at that happy face and say, “Yep... you’re coming home with me.”

This handsome boy is a total people-lover who lives for attention, cuddles, swimming, and a good game of fetch. Although “fetch” might be a generous term... Little Man sometimes prefers “I got the toy, now you figure out how to get it back.” 😂🎾 Bring a second toy and you’ve cracked the code!

Little Man may do best as the only pet, but he’s shown us that he can definitely make the right friends-especially his shelter BFF, Millie! A meet-and-greet with other pets is a must. After all, dogs are like people... we don't like everybody we meet either! 😂

He’s smart, playful, affectionate, and ready to trade shelter life for couch cuddles, adventures, swimming days, and a family of his very own.

❤️ Little Man has been waiting long enough. Maybe his “big person” is you.
