Great update on Winky! She used to pace back and forth and her owner used to have to hold her by her collar to keep her from climbing into the driver's seat. Now she can lie down on command in the back seat so they can travel safely together.

Ollie made some pretty big breakthroughs regarding his reactivity this evening. My usual methods for addressing reactivity were not cutting it so we had to step outside the box a little bit but he got there.

Welcome to the pack, Trooper!

Trooper is a 6 month Miniature American Shepherd (also commonly called miniature Australian shepherd). Trooper has started training because he has some undesirable behaviors like jumping, jumping, counter surfing, playing keep away, bolting out the door, and running off after critters. He's a very friendly dog and doesn't have any major behavioral issues but just needs to learn some rules and definitely will benefit from reliable obedience.

His owner has been through our program before so she is already familiar with ecollar training and I have no doubt Trooper and his owner are going to do phenomenal!

Beautiful miss Winky worked on the down command today. Winky is a perfect example of a dog that will happily do a down for a treat, as long as there are no distractions, but as soon as there is no treat and there are distractions, that down is not happening. This is why I never depend on food rewards, it's not reliable and it definitely does not hold up in the real world that is full of other dogs, squirrels, cars, etc.

Some major changes happening with Winky! Huge shout-out to her owner for being super committed and being the sole reason the changes are happening. Something I will preach forever: it does not matter if I can come to your home and train your dog, you have to be willing to put in the work and consistency. Owners either make or break the training! And safe to say Winky's owner is putting in the work and seeing the results!

Ollie started working on the down command today among some other things. This will be especially useful in the car and also in his crate.
