Plaquard Creek Ranch We are a small hobby, fully off-grid family ranch. We love the ESS and ECS breeds, and are excited to share them with you!

We also raise competitive show lambs, and have started a rabbitry. We're working towards offering horseback tours & cabin rentals! Our pups are raised at home, with kids, on the ranch! We believe our pups could do quite well in the show ring, but we are focusing on hunting and agility. If you want a beautiful, well rounded family and working dog, an ESS is what you need! All puppies will be on a spay/neuter contract. Registration forms will be delivered after contract fulfillment.

Skye is our STUNNING and BUILT Warm Springs Reservation mare roughly 14-15 years old and about 14 hands..

She has area and and tons of trail experience!
She has a full summer working as the lead guide horse for the Running Y Ranch!
She has done hundreds of trails and even been used in 4-H in Showmanship. She has almost a year of professional training.

She will stand tied all day, trims with front feet fine, she is touchy with her back. Loads, bathes, trailers, respects hot wire, good with kids, is fine with tractors and loud machinery, will walk over bridges and more.

With a beginner or intermediate/non confident rider, she can plod around slow all day with the occasional trot. With a lesson instructor or a more confident and experienced rider she will trot all day and canter when you urge her. She knows how to side pass, haunch turn and forehand turn. She cues with sound or leg pressure.

She will occasionally get spoky at things and halt in her tracks and snort. Just redirect her and she will move on.

My 10 year old kids can ride her ba****ck in a halter. They just go slow.

She would make a great endurance trail horse! Thats what I wanted to do, I just don't have the time. She is QUICK when she wants to be or when you urge her! And she does have a smooth canter, you just have to gain her trust a bit and urge her into it.

I personally would consider her still slightly green, she needs confidence building.

She rides in a sidepull.

Selling mostly because our property just went dry, we no longer have water and we have to get it hauled in. Also because I have some old neck injuries that are preventing me from working her regularly - which she needs.

Looking for a bomb proof leadline pony for your kids or grandkids?
Dot, 18 year old, POA is looking for greener pastures!
Dot is fancy broke, but would need a solid refresher. She has been used for basic pleasure riding for the last 6 years, and has mostly sat the last 2 years.
Dot is simply amazing! She will stand all day for brushes and will go out on the trail all day without giving up on you. (As long as your under 150 pounds) and she will walk on a lead or around in an area all day too!
I am 150 and take her on short rides.
Dot has moon blindness.. it's very hard for her to see during the day. Because of this she has started getting picked on from our other 4 horses and is now needing a confident rider to get her to move out more than a walk. Because of course she gets scares running blind. Because of this unexpected noises/obstacles may scare her.
She will ride out alone but prefers a friend. Will tie alone, but if other horses are in the area she will call to them.
She does great with kids! Great with goats and sheep and mini horses and other horses.
Because she cant see well she likes to make sure she gets food.
She can find her way to her water and food bowl on her own after a day or two of letting her know where they are.
Trailers, bathes, stands tied, stands for the farrier and can use a hoof grinder too.
Rides in a side pull but will take a bit, will shake her head if it's not a jolly bit.
