An amazing accomplishment for an amazing mare!

Congratulations to Wolf Livestock and all connections. She is a special one. ❤️

𝙃𝙖𝙡𝙛 𝙖 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙙𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙨.

That is what Never Reylinquish has produced, and last night at the National Reined Cow Horse Million Dollar Club reception she was recognized for it.

Mares like her are why we believe so strongly in what we are building. Owning her is a privilege, and her impact as a producer is a reflection of the standard we set for our program.

The equine reproduction community has lost an influential member in Professor Eric Palmer.

Our prayers are with his friends and family during this difficult time.

Professor Eric Palmer 1947-2025
It is with great sadness that we learnt of the death of Professor Eric Palmer. Eric possessed a quiet and kind aura, accompanied by a vast intellect and was held in high esteem by his colleagues in France and internationally. Amongst Eric’s many pioneering innovations, the application of transrectal ultrasonography to diagnose pregnancy in the mare was arguably the most important. Since the publication of Eric’s first report in 1980, this technique has been applied globally to improve reproductive efficiency and welfare in the mare, particularly via the ability to identify twin conceptuses. In 1991, his group was the first to report first successful in vitro fertilisation resulting in the birth of a live foal and he was involved in the first cloning of valuable competition horses. The Equine Reproduction Research Unit at INRA was established at Eric’s instigation in 1981. Multiple honours were quite rightly bestowed on this amazing man and he was a foundation member of the International Symposium on Equine Reproduction as well as serving as a long standing member of its International Committee, holding the office of Chair in the mid-1990s. Aside from his research, Eric was a talented horseman, competing the offspring of his cloned horses. His intellect and pioneering spirit will be greatly missed by the equine reproduction community. Our deepest condolences to his wife and scientific collaborator Pascale and their daughters. AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) received confirmation of equine herpes myeloencephalopathy (EHM), the neurologic disease linked to equine herpes virus (EHV-1), in a Texas Quarter Horse on November 18, 2025.

The horse attended the 2025 WPRA World Finals and Elite Barrel Race event in Waco, Texas on November 5-9, 2025. TAHC staff are working closely with event coordinators, equine owners, and veterinarians to respond to the outbreak, take measures to protect equine, and prevent the further spread of the virus. Additional participants of this event have been notified by the TAHC and are currently being monitored under hold orders.

Along with her twin sister, Dr. Hannah Looman, DVM, Jessica has been an integral part of our success. From managing the recipient mare herd, to breeding hundreds of mares, transferring hundreds of embryos, and performing OPU (o**m pickup) to name a few, we are confident that she will help you produce your next champion. 🏆

A little about Jessica:

Jessica grew up in Durango, Colorado, where she developed a lifelong passion for horses, particularly in showing cow horses. She attended West Texas A&M University, where she was a member of a national champion horse judging team and competed on the ranch horse team. Jessica began working at Timber Creek Veterinary Hospital in the fall of 2018 as an intern, sparking her deep interest in equine reproduction.

She remained at West Texas A&M to complete her Master’s degree, conducting research at the clinic on a drug combination aimed at stimulating anestrous mares to cycle. Jessica went on to earn her PhD from the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine, where her research focused on reproductive challenges in both cows and horses. She graduated in 2025.

Jessica specializes in oocyte recovery and in vitro fertilization, mare cyclicity and endocrinology, and embryo production. Her work combines practical experience with advanced reproductive science to help improve fertility outcomes.

Our stallions’ frozen semen should be in Australia soon, but of course not without a couple trips back and forth between Memphis and Oakland. 🤦‍♀️
