Intervening doesn’t mean you failed.
It means you’re taking the steps to provide an environment that can lead to harmony in a multi-cat home. 🏠 🐱 🐱
Repeated conflict between cats usually means something in the environment isn’t working, not that they need to “figure it out.”
When tension keeps resurfacing, it’s often because:
-There aren’t enough resources (litter boxes, resting spots, feeding areas)
-Vertical space is limited
-There was a negative event (redirected aggression, vet scent, startle event)
-Routine changed and security dropped
If the setup doesn’t change, the pattern doesn’t change.
Sometimes small adjustments in:
-Resource distribution
-Traffic flow
-Play and enrichment
-Gradual reintroductions
can completely shift the dynamic.
