Meet the puppies creating all the buzz!

This adorable litter of Lab/Bulldog/Basset Hound mix puppies was discovered in a backyard in South Carolina. With local shelters already overwhelmed, entering the shelter system would have placed them at serious risk. When we were asked if we could help, the answer was easy: absolutely.

Now thriving in foster care, these little ones are getting the safety, love, and second chance every puppy deserves.

True to puppy form, they’re curious, playful, affectionate, and full of joy. They love meeting people, enjoy the company of other dogs, and are already experts at handing out puppy kisses.

And now, they’re ready to find families of their own!

Meet Oscar & Mayer 🌭

These adorable brothers were dumped in South Carolina by a backyard breeder, likely because they were suffering from severe mange—a condition that is completely treatable. Now that they’re receiving the care they deserve, their coats are growing back beautifully, and they’re thriving in their Connecticut foster home while they wait for their forever families.

Oscar and Mayer are charming little dachshund mixes at just 4lbs with the classic long bodies and short legs everyone loves. They’re full of personality, combining playful zoomies and goofy antics with a love for snuggling up in a warm lap.

Another full weekend at the rescue, and this is what it’s all about.

This weekend, nearly all of our Care Bear puppies found their families. Lucky is still waiting for her perfect match through absolutely no fault of her own, and we know her turn is coming soon.

As those puppies headed home, they made room for our newest arrivals.

The two dachshund mix puppies who were discarded because they had mange are now treated, recovering beautifully, and growing their hair back.

They were joined by our newest crew, the Bee Litter: an adorable mix of bulldog, lab, and basset hound puppies who are just beginning their journey with us.

Every one of these puppies deserves a chance, and thanks to our adopters, fosters, volunteers, and supporters, we’re able to keep saying “yes” when puppies need us most.

Both groups will be ready for adoption soon.

We were incredibly honored this month to be the cover and featured story in Valley Life, highlighting the new home of New England Puppy Rescue.

Reading the article was a proud moment for our team. Not because of the walls around us, but because of what those walls represent.

Every abandoned puppy given a second chance.
Every family who chose rescue.
Every foster home that opened their door.
Every volunteer who gave their time.
Every donor who believed in our mission.
Every community member who helped us build something bigger than ourselves.

This facility was never about having a building. It was about creating a place where more lives could be saved, where puppies could receive the care they deserve, where adopters could be supported, and where our community could come together around a shared belief: that saving lives matters.

If there is one thing we hope people take away from our story, it’s that we will never compromise on the values that got us here. Thoughtful rescue. Quality care. Responsible placements. Community involvement. Education. Transparency. Doing what is best for the puppies, even when it is not the easiest path.

We worked incredibly hard to make this dream a reality, and it is an honor to share it with all of you.

Our hope has always been simple: to help more people see rescue in a positive light, so that when the time comes to add a dog to their family, they look to rescue first.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We couldn’t have done it without you.

First, that’s simply not true.

Second, we don’t tolerate pitbull bashing around here.

Some of the best dogs we know are pitbulls. Loyal, goofy, loving, resilient dogs who often find themselves judged long before they’re ever given a chance.

That said, if a pitbull isn’t the right fit for your family, rescue still has something for you. Puppies. Adults. Seniors. Purebreds. Mixed breeds. Small dogs. Large dogs. Every age, size, personality, and energy level imaginable.

The reality is that our country is facing a serious animal welfare crisis. Shelters and rescues are overwhelmed, and dogs are ending up homeless through no fault of their own.

Maybe your social media feed doesn’t show it. Ours does. Every single day.

We know rescue isn’t always perfect. That’s why finding a reputable rescue matters. Ask questions. Do your research. Find an organization that aligns with your values.

But if you’re thinking about adding a dog to your family, we hope you’ll consider rescue first.

Because sometimes saving one life changes two.

There is a hard truth about puppies that people do not always want to hear.

Irresponsible breeding is fueling the overpopulation crisis faster than rescues and shelters can keep up. When puppies do not sell, or when medical or behavioral issues arise, many end up abandoned, or worse.

This is not about making anyone feel guilty for past decisions. Most people simply do not know what to look for. But education matters because where you get your puppy matters.

Ethical breeders are not the problem. They health and genetic test, carefully place their puppies, support their owners for life.

The problem is backyard breeders & puppy mills, where profit comes before the wellbeing of the dogs producing the puppies. Multiple breeds, multiple litters, constant availability, little screening, and little concern for long-term health or temperament. This is a paycheck at your expense.

One of the hardest truths: demand drives breeding. People often say, “But the puppies exist and need homes too.” None of this is their fault. But every purchase funds the next litter. Empty cages do not stay empty. They get filled again.

Behind that cycle is a mother dog being bred repeatedly for profit with little regard for her health, comfort, or quality of life. Buying puppies means that you are complicit to that.

A lack of patience is keeping this industry alive. “We wanted a dog now” is not an excuse to support an industry built on cutting corners and abuse.

People often say rescue is a guessing game, but puppies from irresponsible breeders can be just as unpredictable when there has been no thoughtful breeding, health testing, or temperament evaluation behind them.

If you are looking for a specific breed, do your research. Look for breeders who health test, have waitlists, carefully screen homes, and genuinely care where their puppies go.

And if you are not set on a specific breed, please consider rescue. Incredible puppies are already waiting for someone to choose them.

We want people to make informed choices. The more we learn, the better we can do. And the more educated people become, the more lives we can change.

Help us find Good Luck (aka Lucky) her forever home 🐾✨

Lucky is available for adoption this Saturday, and while all of her siblings already have deposits, this sweet girl is still waiting — and we truly don’t understand why.

She’s the perfect mix of sweet and adventurous: a total cuddlebug who’s also ready to take on the world by your side. In her foster home, she’s already met dogs, kids, cats, and even baby chicks. Lucky has proven just how adaptable, social, and loving she is.

Lucky is the kind of puppy who steals hearts instantly.

Sometimes the best adoptions happen because someone shares a post with the right person at the right time. Help us spread the word and make sure this deserving girl gets to go home too 🍀
