Today is "Take Your Cat to Work Day," and our receptionist Cassie has brought in her cat, Princess Mipsy CatCat the Great, for a mani-pedi. Cassie fell in love with Mipsy when she came to the clinic through the Cherokee County Animal Shelter. At that time, her name was Sassy, but it was changed because having a Sassy and a Cassie in one house would be a bit much!
Mipsy was a pregnant stray when she arrived at the shelter, and she gave birth to kittens there. Weighing only 4 pounds, the shelter discovered she had severe dental disease. This is how Cassie met her; the shelter brought Mipsy to Sixes Animal Hospital for dental cleaning and extractions, hoping to resolve her dental issues. Unfortunately, she returned just a month later for another dental procedure and a full mouth extraction.
Cassie loved Mipsy deeply during both treatments, so she decided to foster her while she recovered from surgery. It turned out to be a foster fail, as Mipsy has now been with Cassie for a year and is thriving in her toothless life. She has two kids to play and snuggle with, and she enjoys sitting by the window to watch the bird feeder. Mipsy is cherished by her new family and the staff at Sixes Animal Hospital.
