Our Walmart Wish List has been updated! 🐾

We recently added a lot of much-needed items, including supplies to help feed and care for the feral cats we are TNRing in the Canonsburg area. With kitten season in full swing and our ongoing colony work, we are going through food, cleaning supplies, litter, and other essentials faster than ever.

Every item purchased helps us continue providing care to the cats and kittens that rely on us. Whether it’s a bag of food, cleaning supplies, or a larger item, every contribution makes a difference.

🐾 Wish List Wednesday! 🐾

Today is Wish List Wednesday, and a few items on our wish lists are even on sale! Right now, our biggest needs are:

🛒 Dry kitten and cat food
🩺 Supplements
🐱 Litter
🧼 Cleaning supplies

We are currently closed for intake for a little while as we focus on the cats and kittens already in our care.

We just completed another step in our TNR project and dropped off the third and final mom cat to be spayed, making 3 moms fixed and preventing countless future kittens from being born. We also trapped 4 kittens from the property and transferred them to a fellow rescue for help. There are still approximately 6 more kittens we are working to catch and place with trusted rescue partners.

Right now, we still have 6 kittens in our care, which is why we are taking a short break from intake. Starting next month, all of these kittens will need to be spayed and neutered before heading to their forever homes.

❤️ Adoption updates:
• Lilac is with her foster and will be adopted by them.
• Edith and Willow are also being adopted by their foster.
• Someone is coming to meet Maple and Cole this weekend.
• And of course, we still have our tiny kitty-bitty baby, Clover!

✂️ Spay & Neuter Sponsorships Needed
Edith and Willow are scheduled to be spayed next month. We are incredibly grateful that Edith’s spay has already been sponsored! We are still looking for a sponsor for Willow’s spay, which will cost approximately $150. If you would like to help cover her surgery, please send us a message. Every sponsorship helps us continue rescuing and helping more cats in need.

We could also really use another local foster home. If you’ve been wanting to help cats but aren’t in a position to adopt permanently, fostering is a wonderful way to make a difference. Please send us a message if you’d like more information!

And one more special request: if you don’t currently have cats and would consider adopting a sweet 2–3-year-old cat that we rescued from outdoors, please reach out. She deserves a chance to finally know what it’s like to have a family of her own. ❤️

🐾 Giving Tuesday! 🐾

Our Amazon Wish List could use a little love this week! We have several items that are running low, including dry food, cleaning supplies, storage shelves, and items from our Most Wanted section. Some of our larger needs, including air purifiers, are even on sale right now, making this a great time to help us stock up and save.

As kitten season continues, we are also preparing for several upcoming spay and neuter appointments, so monetary donations are always greatly appreciated and go directly toward veterinary care for the cats and kittens in our rescue.

Every bag of food, bottle of cleaner, shelf, and dollar donated helps us continue rescuing, vetting, and caring for cats in need. We truly couldn’t do this without your support.

We’ve had a lot of questions lately from potential adopters about what vetting and preventative care our cats and kittens receive before adoption, so we wanted to walk everyone through our process from start to finish.

Every cat or kitten that comes through our doors begins preventative treatment immediately. All new arrivals receive Pyrantel to treat common intestinal parasites such as roundworms. They then complete a 5-day course of Panacur to address potential Giardia and other intestinal parasites. We don’t believe in waiting for symptoms to appear, we believe in being proactive whenever possible.

If a cat or kitten develops symptoms after treatment, we reassess and treat as needed, which may include additional Panacur and/or metronidazole under our veterinarian’s guidance.

Every cat also receives NexGard Combo, which helps protect against fleas, ticks, ear mites, roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms.

One thing that is non-negotiable in our rescue is an antibacterial and antifungal bath upon intake. We understand not everyone agrees with bathing cats, but it is part of our protocol to help protect the animals already in our care and to give each newcomer the best start possible.

All cats and kittens begin their FVRCP vaccine series according to age and veterinary recommendations. Every cat that is old enough receives:
🐾 Rabies vaccination
🐾 Spay or neuter surgery
🐾 Microchip
🐾 FIV/FeLV testing

We are also excited to announce that moving forward, all cats and kittens will receive f***l parasite testing as part of our intake and adoption process.

We intentionally keep our numbers small so we can provide proper nutrition, individualized care, and thorough veterinary attention to every animal that enters our rescue.

No cat leaves our care without being combo tested and receiving the appropriate veterinary care for their age and needs.

If you’re adopting a cat from any source, we strongly encourage you to ask questions and make sure your new family member has received proper veterinary care, parasite prevention, vaccinations, and testing. These things don’t just protect your new pet, they protect the pets already in your home as well.

Today was a huge win for rescue, even if it might not seem like it on the surface.

A woman reached out to us after several larger rescues had to say no to helping with a small colony on her property. Normally, feral cats aren’t our area of focus, but when we learned there were only three adult females, we knew this was a chance to stop a much bigger problem before it started.

Today, two of those three females were spayed today, and one was already pregnant. That means countless future kittens will never have to be born outside, struggle to survive, or end up adding to the overwhelming number of homeless cats already in need.

We’re now working on trapping the remaining female and the kittens on the property so we can get them safe, vetted, and prevent the cycle from continuing.

Rescue isn’t always about the dramatic before-and-after stories. Sometimes it’s about preventing the suffering before it happens. Today, because one person cared enough to ask for help and because our supporters make this work possible, a major colony expansion was stopped before it could begin.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated toward this spay project. Your donations directly funded these surgeries and made it possible for us to say “yes” when help was needed. Because of you, two females were altered today, one pregnant litter was prevented, and we’re one step closer to getting this entire colony under control.

We are once again asking for help with supplies from our Amazon Wish List!

We currently have 5 kittens still in our care between our home and our fosters, and we’re preparing to take in additional kittens from an outdoor colony. To make sure as many kittens as possible can get help, we are partnering with another rescue and splitting the group between us.

Kitten season is in full swing, and with kittens comes a never-ending need for supplies. We are flying through:

🐱 Dry kitten food
🐱 Litter
🐱 Supplements
🐱 Cleaning supplies
🐱 Toys and enrichment items
🐱 Anything marked “Most Wanted” on our wish list

Every bag of litter, can of food, and donated item directly helps us continue saying “yes” to kittens in need. Without supplies, we simply cannot keep taking in more cats and kittens.

Walt went home today all the way to Middletown, PA!

This sweet little guy has been one of the most unique kittens we’ve had. Walt may look like he’s permanently stuck in a baby body, but that’s just our little Walt! He has been working hard, getting lots of love and support, along with supplements to help him grow and thrive. We were so happy that he was healthy enough to be neutered and officially begin the next chapter of his life.

Today, Walt headed off to his forever home with his wonderful mom and his new ragdoll kitty brothers. We couldn’t be happier for this special boy. Watching him go from rescue to a loving family is exactly why we do what we do.

Happy life, Walt! We can’t wait to watch you grow up surrounded by love. ❤️🐾🏡
