🦟 Lyme disease treatment involves eliminating any circulating Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria. Antibiotics are effective at clearing the infection, but may not completely eliminate clinical signs.

Lyme disease-induced organ or joint damage (e.g., arthritis, stiffness) may persist and require additional therapy or care. The initial antibiotic course typically lasts for four weeks, and an additional course may be necessary. If Lyme disease progresses undetected or untreated, neurologic signs, including seizures, are common, as well as kidney failure, which is often fatal.

A Closer Look at Your Pet’s Visit

A visit to the veterinary hospital is more than just the time spent in the exam room.

Behind each appointment is a team working together to make sure your pet receives safe, thoughtful care.

That includes:

• Licensed staff assisting with exams and treatments
• Preparation and review of your pet’s medical history
• Monitoring equipment and proper medication handling
• Ongoing training to stay current with medical standards

We believe good care comes from doing the small things right — consistently.

It’s all part of making sure your pet is in good hands every step of the way.
