Did you know your pet needs routine dental cleanings just like you? Routine dental care is important to avoid periodontal disease as well as further infections as a result of bacteria build up in your pets mouth that can affect other organs such as your pets heart. Inflamed gums, infected, broken or mobile teeth can also be extremely painful affecting their eating habits.
Some pets, especially smaller breeds, breeds with a lot of hair surrounding their mouths or pets that eat wet food, may require cleanings twice a year as this can create build up at a faster rate.
Preventative maintenance at home such as brushing can help, however, is usually not enough to avoid cleanings! Much like us, we brush twice a day but we still need to visit our dentist yearly for cleanings!
If you think your pet may need a dental, give us a call to schedule an appointment! Our Veterinarian can do an oral exam & we can provide you with an estimate for a dental cleaning for your pet πͺ₯
