Trying something new and doing a little $5 Friday fundraiser to help us prepare for our incoming rescue dog, Meko.

All we ask is for a $5 donation - IF you have it to spare! A small donation spread out among our supporters will add up quickly and will help us pay for vet visits, monthly prevention, and get more dog food.

Have you ever wanted your own tiny, stocky cow? 🐄 Well, we have the girl for you!

We committed to pulling Meko from Arkansas back in the fall but right before transport, she tested positive for heartworm (NH doesn’t allow bringing in HW+ dogs). So she spent the winter in foster homes receiving treatment and she can now finalllyyy head north!

Meko has lived with multiple dogs and a dog-savvy cat and has done well with everyone! She’s playful with dogs who like to play and respectful of dogs who want space. She never chases the cat, but is curious, will whine for the cat to play with her, and is tolerant of the cat grooming or swatting at her.

She’s friendly with all people, including kids. She’s been to doggy daycare, an off-leash bar, and a baseball game. She loves to snuggle and sunbathe. AND she’s potty trained. 👏

Her foster mom says, “She is an absolute love of a dog and anyone is so lucky to have her in their life.” 🖤

We borrowed little Maxwell from Dreams Come True Rescue to hang out with us at the Barking Lot party today and he was a hit with everyone! Such an adorable, sweet boy. I think it’s safe to say he’ll be adopted very soon. 😊

Plus I finally got to try Katie's Cookies and they did not disappoint. 😋

This is a courtesy post for one of our boarding dogs, Gris (aka Gristopher), who has been coming here since 2021. His wonderful mom has found herself in a work bind that she realizes isn’t fair to Gris. So we’re not technically taking Gris into the rescue but are helping to find him a new home.

Gris is a 5-year-old neutered Australian Shepherd. He’s fantastic with other dogs and has been one of our dog’s besties for years now! ☺️ He’s lived with two cats and will sometimes try to herd them, but not hurt them. He’s been around children of all ages, but can be jumpy so older kids would be best.

Gris does not have a reliable recall so needs to be kept on a leash. His mom keeps him on a long leash when outside doing yard work and he contently watches the neighborhood go by. He loves to hike and be active but can also be a couch potato. 😊

It’s challenging to travel when you have quirky pets AND run a dog rescue, but it’s doable - just takes a lot of advanced planning and prep. 🤪

This week, Michael and I were able to escape to the ocean for a couple nights, spend time with my family, and temporarily disconnect from responsibilities. 🌊

Thank you to Courtney with Trust & Treats Dog Training for taking Maple and Opie (our weirdos), Emily with Emily's Pet Care Service for “rescue sitting” and caring for Molly, and my dad and Vicky for watching Matilda! Thanks to all of them, everything went smoothly, and I was only mildly anxious. 😊

Poor Matilda was extra nervous and timid at Tractor Supply Co. today. 🥺 But as soon as a couple puppies showed up, she was so much happier. Other dogs make everything better. 🖤

The shepherd puppy was a customer’s and the little black puppy is adoptable Maxwell from Dreams Come True Rescue.

And thank you to Geoff from Tractor Supply for having us and all the support! 😊
