Rescue The Forgotten

Rescue The Forgotten We are a rescue that works to help rehome our communities animals by finding reputable rescues or new forever homes for the animals in need.

We share urgent animals at local pound facilities, helping to "network" them in hopes of them finding rescue or adopters that can provide a new loving, forever home. We are more than happy to help transport when able. We are an all-volunteer organization that does as much as we can for our local animals.

Volunteers in LaRue County have worked along with FOHCAS the past few years to reduce the unhoused cat population there. The resulting clinics have spay/neutered 72 cats just this year and 214 since we started. That is thousands of homeless cats prevented.

LaRue County Snip & Clip requires volunteers and resources - so we’re having a fun night of food, friends and fundraising on September 18 at Mather’s Mill.

We hope you’ll join us to learn more about this life-saving effort - just rsvp at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSftx74dOK_crCRtOkWxGvGhZOGf7BSOmrlokumP7YnYB9UbcA/viewform

🚨 THURSDAY TOUGH LOVE: STOP LETTING THEM REPRODUCE. 🚨

We’re going to say the uncomfortable part out loud:

It is NOT cute to keep letting cats have litter after litter.

“I just love kittens.”
“She deserves to have babies.”
“I’ll find homes for them.”

But here’s the reality: there are not enough homes.

There are already more cats than available families. Kittens are being dumped, abandoned, neglected, and surrendered. Community cats are getting sick, injured, starving, and yes—some are being abused.

And every litter born outside adds more cats to an already overwhelming problem.

Meanwhile, female cats can become pregnant again while still nursing a litter. One unspayed female and her offspring can turn into dozens—or even hundreds—of cats in a surprisingly short time.

💥 This is why spay and neuter matters.

We don't need more kittens.
We need fewer cats suffering.

If you’re feeding a community cat, please don’t stop at putting food out. Get them fixed. TNR works. It stops the endless cycle of reproduction while allowing community cats to live out their lives.

And if you have a cat that needs to be spayed or neutered, text us at 270-319-2609 to get on the schedule.

We would much rather help you get one cat fixed today than rescue an entire litter tomorrow. 🐾

Love cats? Then help prevent them from being born into a life where there may not be a safe place for them.
