🐾 GREEN COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL — A LITTLE REMINDER FROM THE HEART 🐾
There’s a saying in animal control world that we hear a lot: “Most of the time, we don’t have an animal problem. We have a people problem.”
Now, I know that might sound harsh, but please hear my heart behind those words.
Dogs don’t ask to be born into a world where they’re unwanted. Cats don’t ask to have litter after litter of kittens because someone chose not to spay or neuter their pet. Animals don’t ask to be chained outside, left hungry, forgotten, or treated like they’re disposable.
They depend on us. Every single day.
If we would take responsibility for our pets, spay and neuter them, provide proper food and shelter, keep them safe, and love them the way they deserve to be loved, we could prevent so much of the suffering we see.
Animal Control can and does respond every call pick up strays, reunite lost pets with their owners, and try to help animals in need. But we cannot fix this problem alone. It takes responsible owners, caring neighbors, and a community willing to do what’s right.
