The CAC page was created to be a fun but informative source for animal lovers seeking happiness

Crossroads Animal Clinic is committed to providing exceptional veterinary services for both large and small animals. Whether you choose us for the combined experience of our veterinarians, or for the caring and compassion of our entire staff, you will know that your animal is in the best hands. Our page, however, is a place to step away from the seriousness of medicine and of life and death. It’s an opportunity to laugh and share the happiness that pets (and their owners) bring into our lives. We will try to provide you with the latest medical, behavioral, and training information, along with alerts on pet food recalls, fun giveaways and contests, and a little humor sprinkled in. Welcome to our page, we hope you enjoy our humor and learn a little something along the way.

🌡️🐾 Hot Weather = Very Dangerous for Your Pets

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heat exhaustion and heatstroke in our furry friends. Unlike us, pets can’t cool themselves as easily, and it can become life threatening very quickly!!! 🔥

Signs of heat exhaustion include:
• Excessive panting or drooling
• Lethargy or weakness
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Bright red gums or tongue
• Difficulty breathing

How to keep your pets safe:
☀️ ALWAYS provide fresh, cool water
☀️ MAKE SURE they have shade or a cool indoor space
☀️ AVOID walks during the hottest parts of the day (opt for early morning or late evening)
☀️ NEVER leave your pet in a parked car, even for a minute

If you notice any signs of heat exhaustion, seek veterinary care immediately. this is an emergency.

Let’s keep our pets safe, cool, and happy all summer long! ❤️🐶🐱
