🐱 FIV & FeLV: Protect Your Cat with Testing & Prevention 🐱
Some of the most serious feline diseases can go unnoticed until it’s too late. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) both affect your cat’s immune system—but with the right care, they can be managed and even prevented.
🦠 Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV):
FIV weakens the immune system, making cats more susceptible to infections. It is most commonly spread through bite wounds, putting outdoor and fighting cats at higher risk.
⚠️ Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV):
FeLV is a leading cause of illness in cats and can lead to anemia, immune suppression, and certain cancers. It spreads through close contact like grooming, shared bowls, and from mother cats to kittens.

As the weather warms up, we start to see an increase in Leptospirosis and Lyme disease—two serious illnesses that can affect your dog’s health.

🦠 Leptospirosis (Lepto):
Spread through contaminated water, soil, and wildlife urine
• Can cause kidney and liver damage
• Can be transmitted to humans (zoonotic)
• Dogs don’t have to swim—just sniffing or drinking from puddles can expose them

🕷️ Lyme Disease:
Spread by ticks (very common in our area!)
• Can lead to joint pain, fever, and kidney issues
• Often goes unnoticed until symptoms appear
