🐾 A Little Update from Luna Mae Co. Dog Training 🐾

Doctor Luna has an important announcement! 🩺🐶

My mom has an upcoming foot surgery on October 19 and will need a little time to recover. Because of this, Luna Mae Co. will be taking a short break from Board & Trains while she focuses on healing.

💙 But training doesn’t stop! During her recovery, Mom will still be available for:

🐕 One-on-One Training Sessions
💻 Virtual Training Sessions

If you already have a training session scheduled or would like to continue working with your dog during this time, please reach out! We can work around her recovery and keep your pup’s progress moving forward.

Thank you so much for your understanding, patience, and continued support of Luna Mae Co. Dog Training. ❤️

Same goal… happy, confident, well-mannered dogs! 🐾

🐾 HAZEL UPDATE! 🐾

This little girl is doing AMAZING! 💙

When Hazel first came to us, she had some pretty intense behaviors for such a tiny puppy. The crazy growling and biting at our faces has greatly subsided, and we’re continuing to work on curbing that puppy biting and teaching her appropriate ways to interact.

Of course… Hazel is still Hazel. 😂 She can be VERY feisty at times, especially when she sees the big dogs. She seems to have decided that she is, in fact, a big bad girl trapped in a tiny puppy body. She has absolutely NO idea how small she is! 😂🐶

Her potty training is going AMAZINGLY well! 🎉

She’s settling into a great routine:
🌙 Bedtime around 9:30–10:00 PM
☀️ Waking up around 5:30–6:30 AM
🐾 Sleeping through the night
🏠 Keeping her kennel clean and dry
🧸 Keeping her playpen clean and dry during structured playtime

For such a young puppy who has already been through so much, these are huge accomplishments.

We’re continuing to work on her confidence, manners, puppy biting, appropriate interactions with other dogs, and helping her understand that she doesn’t have to be a tiny 10-pound security guard. 😂

We are so proud of this little girl and the progress she’s making!

Hazel’s story is just getting started, and we can’t wait to see the dog she grows into. ❤️🐾

🐾 DUTTON’S SUCCESS STORY 🐾

Dutton came to us needing help with a variety of basic manners and skills, including off-leash reliability, recall, place, and potty training. We were also working on teaching him that the grass is where we potty—not the concrete or the driveway. 😂

But one of Dutton’s biggest challenges was his kennel anxiety.

When Dutton first came to us, simply closing the kennel door could send him into a panic. He would bite at the kennel door, without a care in the world if your fingers happened to be in the way. It was clear that the kennel wasn’t a place where he felt safe or comfortable.

Fast forward to today… ❤️

Dutton now goes into his kennel when told and actually enjoys being there. That transformation alone is something we’re incredibly proud of.

But Dutton’s story is also a perfect example of what a Board & Train program is really about.

We create the structure.
We teach the skills.
We build the foundation.

Then the work continues at home.

A Board & Train isn’t a magic fix where your dog comes home and everything is permanently solved. The goal is to give both the dog and their owner the tools, structure, communication, and foundation they need to continue succeeding together.

And Dutton’s family has continued that work. ❤️

We’ve had the pleasure of watching Dutton a few times since his stay with us, and it has been so rewarding to see him continue to grow.

He is a phenomenal little dog, and we are so incredibly proud of how far he has come.

We can’t wait to see what’s in store for this little guy! 🐾

Another Luna Mae Co. success story. 💙

🐾 Miss Coco — Look at You Go! 🐾

One of our previous Board & Train pups, Miss Coco, is doing absolutely fantastic with her owner, and we couldn’t be more proud of them both! ❤️

Coco came to us with quite a list to work through — potty training, recall, place, door manners, barking at everything, being unwilling to load and unload from the vehicle, on and off leash manners, and becoming more comfortable with public accessibility.

So, we took everything Coco needed and built structure, consistency, and clear communication into her everyday life.

But here’s the part that makes us the proudest…

Her owner kept working. 🥹

Training doesn’t end when a dog goes home. The work her owner has continued to put in is exactly what turns training into lasting results. They’ve taken what we taught them, incorporated it into their daily routine, and continued reinforcing those expectations.

And Coco? She is thriving. 🐶❤️

This is what we love to see — a dog and owner working together, learning together, and growing together.

We are SO proud of you, Coco, and we are just as proud of your owner! Keep up the amazing work! 👏🐾

🐾 Meet Hazel. 🐾

Hazel is approximately 8 weeks old, and somehow, this tiny girl has already experienced more than any puppy ever should.

A little over a week and a half ago, Hazel was found alone in the middle of a road in 100-degree heat. Someone had left her there to die.

Thankfully, an incredible family found her, picked her up, and brought her home. ❤️

From what we can tell, Hazel has had a really rough start to life. She was dumped, and her tail appears to have been improperly docked, likely with scissors, leaving her with yet another piece of trauma she never should have had to experience.

Despite everything she’s been through in her short little life, Hazel is getting a second chance. 🥹

She’s joining us at Luna Mae Co. Dog Training to work on house training, confidence, and some behavioral challenges that may be connected to the trauma she has already endured.

At just 8 weeks old, this little girl has so much life ahead of her. Our goal isn’t just to teach her commands—it’s to help her learn that the world can be a safe, predictable, and loving place.

We are incredibly blessed that Hazel’s family was referred to us and trusted Luna Mae Co. to be a part of her journey.

From being left in the middle of a road to having a family who fought for her…

Hazel’s story is just beginning. 🐾💙

Welcome to the Luna Mae Co. family, sweet girl. We’re so happy you’re here. ❤️

🐾🇺🇸 25 YEARS LATER… WE STILL REMEMBER. WE WILL NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸🐾
On September 11, 2001, when our country was facing unimaginable devastation, hundreds of extraordinary dogs answered the call.
Search and rescue dogs crawled through mountains of rubble searching for survivors. Cadaver dogs worked tirelessly to help bring closure to families. Police K9s worked side by side with their handlers. And therapy dogs provided comfort to people who had lost everything — including first responders who had witnessed things no human should ever have to endure.
They searched.
They waited.
They listened.
They worked.
They comforted.
And they never asked for anything in return. ❤️
Different breeds. Different sizes. Different personalities. But every one of them demonstrated the dedication, devotion, courage and deep intelligence that lives within the canine heart.
They remind us of something we see every day at Ozarks Kat and K9:
Never underestimate a dog.
Behind those eyes is an incredible mind. Behind that wagging tail is a heart capable of extraordinary loyalty. And sometimes, behind a kennel door is a hero just waiting for someone to give them the chance to show what they're capable of.
Today, we remember every person and every animal who served, searched, comforted, recovered and helped our nation begin to heal.
We remember the lives lost.
We honor those who served.
We cherish the animals who stood beside humanity when humanity needed them most.
25 years later, we still remember.
And we will never forget. 🇺🇸🐾
❤️ And if you're looking for your own four-legged hero… ALL DOG ADOPTIONS at Ozarks Kat and K9 are HALF PRICE ALL MONTH LONG!
Maybe your hero is waiting for you. 🐶❤️
