This beautiful gelding is one of 7 that we worked in early May. Talk about a beauty!

A potentially alarming finding earlier this month. It was relief to realize the horses on this farm always recieve their rabies vaccination!

On another note, things like this happen. It can be handy to have a rope or something similar to allow wildlife to escape water tanks.

In true horse girl fashion (after her own 12 hour colic episode) Dr. Bell underwent an emergency appendectomy and fecalith retrieval yesterday 🪨💩😷

Unfortunately this means 3 weeks of no horseback riding and a cancelled camping trip 😪

However, my amazing surgeon Dr. Harris approved me to be back seeing equine patients June 1st in full capacity. Please don't hesitate to reach out with urgent care concerns in the meantime (Although we may have to rely on Brandon to do the heavy lifting).

Have a Happy (and hopefully uneventful) Memorial Weekend!

Happy Birthday!!!!

3 of our patients had their very first foals this month. All 3 mares and foals are happy, healthy, and had no complications with foaling 👏👏👏.

Dr. Bell will be out of town May 21st-25th for a family camping trip 🏕🐎. As always please feel free to message our page or send a text for non emergent cases or questions. Please have a secondary plan of action for life threatening emergencies during this time.

I have endless gratitude for our amazing clients who support our need for work/life balance and that much needed "saddle time".

Happy Trails!

Navicular Disease is something seen commonly as a cause of forelimb lameness in horses. There are several managment strategies ranging from therapeutic shoeing, joint or Navicular Bursa injections, and or managment with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication.

Treatment and managment depends on the severity of lameness and the intended goals for the horse.

Because Navicular Syndrome effects both front hooves, it is often initially ignored as the horse being "tender footed", but if your horse seems tender in the forelimb(s) or "soft footed" this is an indication to get some xrays done!

Welcome to the world little one!!!!

This little Jenny has been long awaited and will have such an amazing family to grow up with.

I am very blessed to have been along for the ride to help Owen prepare for her first foal and of course their owner was happy to provide some "Facebook tax" to share the cuteness!
