Training looked a little different today—and that’s the point.
We traded water work and swimming for hiking and assisted running. No treats, no rigid structure—just real-life application.
Not every session needs food rewards to be effective. Today, I let him be a dog and captured the behaviors I wanted, pairing them with clear commands and strong verbal praise. That’s where understanding starts to click.
We focused on:
• “Walk on” – steady forward movement with consistent tension at the end of the bungee leash
• “Stop” – clear, reliable disengagement
I’m not a runner, but the long-term goal with Boden is to bike with him confidently pulling out in front. And that doesn’t start with the bike—it starts here.
Good training isn’t rushed. It’s built.
Step by step. Rep by rep. Real-world moment by real-world moment.
Because the end goal isn’t just performance—it’s clarity, trust, and consistency.
