🐾 SUCCESS STORY SUNDAY! 🐾

Today we’re checking in on a boy who waited patiently for his forever home… Babe Ruth! ⚾️❤️

Babe was known around PAWS as a spunky guy with a BIG personality who absolutely LOVED his kitty friends and soaking up attention from his humans. He had plenty of opinions to share and was always ready to make sure everyone knew he was there! 😹

Well, Babe has finally found his forever home, and his new mom sent us the sweetest update!

“It’s been a few days. Babe is adjusting well except a couple things… He would like his box cleaned ASAP. And he does tell me.” 😂

Sounds like the Babe Ruth we remember!

His mom also discovered that Babe has mastered going upstairs… but apparently coming back downstairs is a skill he has not yet added to his résumé. 😂 She’s working with him on it, although Babe has made it very clear that being carried downstairs is NOT his preferred method of transportation.

And despite his little quirks, there’s one thing he absolutely loves — sleeping with his mom at night. 🥹❤️

Overall, Babe is doing well and settling into his new life, proving once again that sometimes our shelter kitties just need a little time, patience, and the right person to show them where they belong.

We’re so happy this spunky boy finally got his forever! 🏡❤️

🐾 Canon is an old man looking for his forever home!

Canon has officially entered his grandpa era, and he’s embracing it. 😂❤️ He’s a little reserved when you first meet him, but once he warms up, he’s the sweetest little shadow who loves being close to his people.

He enjoys car rides, cozy crate naps, and a nice, quiet life. He’s house trained, good with kids, and has lived peacefully with cats. He’s interested in other dogs but can be a little nervous at first.

Canon is ready for a home where he can spend his days doing what he does best, relaxing, supervising, and being spoiled like the distinguished little gentleman he is. 🥹

Olivia Jane, Wolfie, Rudy, Ralphie & Bernie came to us on July 7th scared, nervous, and unsure of us.

Now look at their faces. 🥹🐱 You can truly see the difference.

The fear they carried when they first arrived has slowly been replaced with curiosity, confidence, and trust. They just needed someone to give them a chance and the time to feel safe.

Sometimes the scared cats are the ones who need us the most. They may not show you their true personalities right away, but give them time, patience, and love, and you may be amazed by who they become. 🤍

Give the scared ones a chance. There’s so much love waiting underneath the fear. 🐾

🤍 AUGUST ADOPTION RECAP 🤍

76 adoptions. 🥹🐾

August was an incredible month for PAWS, and we couldn’t let September begin without taking a moment to celebrate — and say THANK YOU.

This month, 76 animals found their families. 76 animals who now have a warm bed, a full bowl, a safe place to sleep, and someone to love them for the rest of their lives.

But every one of those 76 adoptions was made possible by a village.

🤍 To our adopters, thank you for choosing rescue and giving an animal a second chance.

🤍 To our volunteers and fosters, thank you for giving your time, patience, love, and endless care.

🤍 To our donors and supporters, thank you for providing the funds, supplies, and resources that help us care for animals and continue finding them loving homes.

🤍 To our staff, thank you for everything you do behind the scenes and in the kennels every single day. Your hard work makes these happy endings possible.

🤍 And a HUGE thank you to the ASPCA and the Rescue Effect campaign for making our fee-waived adoption days possible. These special days have helped create incredible opportunities for our animals and connect them with families who may not have otherwise been able to adopt. We are so grateful to be part of this effort and for the impact it has had on our shelter and our animals. ❤️

And to everyone who shared a post, sent a friend our way, stopped in to meet an animal, donated, cheered us on, or simply cared — you are part of these 76 stories, too.

August was a great month, and we are so grateful for every single person who helped make it happen.

Sunday Success Story: Maizy (formerly Thelma)! 🥹🐾

When Thelma first came to PAWS as a stray, she was a little shy and unsure of the world around her. Now, she’s blossomed into the sweetest, silliest little kitty, and her family absolutely adores her.

Maizy loves riding around in her dad’s sweatshirt hood, snuggling up with her pillow and blanket at night, watching TV, and playing with all of her toys. She’s also quite the little character… she hops like a bunny, makes guinea pig noises, chuffs like a c**n cat, and apparently once tried to put her paws over Dad’s mouth when he started snoring. 😂

She and her kitty sister Juniper are even starting to play together, and Maizy is loving life with her new family. Her family says she’s one of the easiest kittens they’ve ever had—and that they all love her so much. ❤️

We couldn’t be happier to see our once-shy little Thelma become the happy, goofy Maizy she was always meant to be. Happy life, sweet girl! 🥹

💗 FOSTER HOME NEEDED FOR CHLOE & DAISY 💗

We are looking for a very special foster home for Chloe and Daisy, a bonded pair of senior Chihuahuas who need to stay together. Chloe is Daisy’s mom, and they have been together their whole lives.

Chloe is definitely a special-needs girl. She has a significant jaw deformity that appears to be something she was born with, no teeth, and some skin that could benefit from medicated baths. She is otherwise doing well for an older girl and just needs someone who is willing to give her a little extra care and patience.

Both girls are older and would do best in a quiet, low-key home. They aren’t looking for a family that wants to take them on long walks or keep them constantly on the go. They are much more interested in being cozy, comfortable, and loved. 🥹

Most importantly, we want to find the perfect home for these two. That’s why we’re looking for a foster family who would be willing to welcome them into their home and give us the opportunity to see how everyone does together. This allows us to make sure their future home and family are truly the right fit for their needs.

And if everything goes wonderfully? Their foster home could absolutely become their forever home. ❤️

Because of their age and medical considerations, Chloe and Daisy will not be spayed. They should not go into a home with any male dogs who are not neutered. We truly believe these two would thrive as the only dogs in the home, where they can soak up all the love and attention they deserve. 💕

We’re looking for someone responsible, patient, and realistic about the extra care Chloe may need, while also understanding how important it is that these girls remain together.

This is Lily 🥹❤️

Lily is the sweetest old gal, and she is still waiting for someone to choose her.

Lily came to us as a surrender because her previous owner could no longer care for her. Since arriving, she’s been pretty sad at the shelter, and honestly, we can’t blame her. But something really special happens when Lily is around people she lights right up. 🥹 She has slowly come out of her shell so much despite everything she’s been through, and we just know there is so much more of her waiting to come out once she has a home of her own.

Lily doesn’t need anything fancy or special. She just needs a family to call her own, a soft place to land, and someone who will love her for the sweet old girl she is.
