Autumn Olive 🫒🫒

For those of you who didn’t catch it on our stories, Olive had a seizure on Sunday. Today we took her to the vet to have her 🩸phenobarbital levels checked. So apparently her level is “toxic” 😩 which is alarming. And so tomorrow we are getting a call from her vet to discuss a new dose. According to the tech we spoke to, this level can cause… seizures! So we have to dose down rather than up.

Her seizure was probably only a minute long and after a half an hour she was seemingly back to normal Olive 👽 otherwise she is her normal sweet weird self. And today after the stress of a vet visit we are having some lovely sunshine and warm weather so we get some time on the catzebo 😎🌞🐈🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🍂🍁

Hello friends 💚 we are excited to let you know that we all moved to the Central Maine Highlands🙀🙀🙀 and we couldn’t be happier about it. We bought a house on 13 acres with woods and a pond and lots of birds and frogs and deer with plenty of windows to spy on them. 🌲🪵🍃🍄🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈🐦‍⬛🦅🦉🦟🐸🦌

We moved at the very end of May so we are still working on getting everything settled but wanted you to know that the girls are doing great here. We are in black fly country now so going out hiking has been challenging because humom and Fig both are bug magnets 🐾🦟🪰🧲 they swarm and gobble. Currently working on a Fig bug veil DIY project to correct this.

It is (the day after) 😮‍💨 and we like to share this every year to remind people that cats can and do suffer from asthma just like humans. Olive used to have episodes of coughing due to her asthma brought on by seasonal allergens but this was one of her very last attacks almost 6 years ago. When this first started happening we thought she was trying to get out a very stubborn hairball. It happened a few times a week and slowly escalated to daily and even more than once a day.

It is important to note that coughing can be caused by other things besides asthma and it would require a vet’s diagnosis to know for sure which usually involves an exam🩺 and chest X-ray 🩻 to confirm. Coughing can also happen for spontaneously for no real reason, once in a great while, but if it becomes frequent especially increasingly frequent or for longer periods it is good to get it checked out. Then you can both breathe a bit easier! 😯😮‍💨💨
