Thanksgiving feels a little extra special this year.

As Mark and I look back at the past few months, the first thing that comes to mind is how grateful we are for the families who trust us with their pets. Every walk, every visit, every tail wag — it all means more than you know.

✨ What a difference a year makes! ✨

A little over a year ago, when Crate Escapes Delaware was just getting started, Mark and I would wonder… How will we ever get enough clients to keep us busy?

Fast forward to this past Monday — we had 7 appointments throughout the day and got to love on 12 dogs and one cat. 🐾💛

We’ve recently welcomed so many sweet new faces to the Crate Escapes family, including:

🐶 Reese, Bear & Mira

And we’re so grateful to continue caring for our faithful furry friends:

🔥🐾 Hot Pavement Alert! 🐾🔥

Yesterday around 2:30 p.m., Mark measured the pavement temperature outside… and it was a scorching 151 degrees! 😳

That’s way too hot for our furry friends’ paws. Pavement that hot can cause burns in just seconds.

👉 Here are 3 ways to protect your dog’s paws in extreme heat:
1️⃣ Walk early in the morning or later in the evening when surfaces are cooler.
2️⃣ Stick to grassy areas or shaded paths whenever possible.
3️⃣ Use a protective paw balm to help create a barrier against the heat.
