Blood Parrot Cichlid

The Blood-red Parrot Cichlid is a man-made hybrid freshwater fish, created in Taiwan in the 1980s, known for its bright color, round body, and beak-like mouth, which is a result of crossbreeding species like the Midas and Redhead cichlids. While popular for their unique appearance and generally peaceful nature in community tanks. They are hardy, can live 10-15 years, and require a large aquarium (55+ gallons) with a varied diet of small pellets.
Key Characteristics
Origin: Man-made hybrid, not found in the wild, first bred in Taiwan around 1986.
Appearance: Round body, large eyes, and a distinctive beak-like mouth that often stays in an "O" shape.
Color: Naturally comes in red, orange, and yellow, but can be dyed or modified (e.g., "heart parrots").
Size: Grows up to 8 inches long.

Neon Zebra Danios

Neon zebra are genetically modified versions of the common zebra danio, bred to display vibrant fluorescent colors. They require the same care as standard zebra danios: a 10-gallon or larger tank, a school of at least 6 to prevent nipping, and stable water conditions.
Care & Requirements:
These hardy, active fish are perfect for beginners but need careful consideration when setting up their environment.
Tank Size & Setup: While a 10-gallon tank can house a small group, 20 to 29 gallons or larger is highly recommended to give them plenty of room to school and swim. They do best with strong filtration and secure lids, as they are jumpers.
Water Parameters: Keep water temperatures between 65° F and 75° F (ideally 72° F) and pH levels between 6.5 and 8.0.Tank Mates: Because they are energetic and somewhat nippy, avoid slow-moving or long-finned fish like bettas or angelfish. Instead, pair them with other peaceful, fast-moving schooling fish like neon tetras, guppies, or other danios.
