On Tuesday May 12th our good friends the Pawlisch's said goodbye to their youngest chessie Carmelita due to cancer. We at Sand Spring have a special connection to their dogs since they are part of our lines. Carmelita was our Glory's granddaughter. I helped them bring their litters into the world and watched Carmelita grow up to be something special. The road trips with the Pawlisch's were always a blast. Carmelita did a lot in her short life, she had 48 titles/certifications, a total of 254 therapy visits, she was the third dog of the Pawlisch's to have a therapy certificate and titles. She was ranked in the UKC All Stars in 2023 being #2 and 2024 being #19. She was in the UKC Top Ten several years, 2021 she was #9, 2023 she was #1, 2024 she was #2 and in 2025 she was #1. She was invited to the UKC Premier several times. The plan was to attend this year with her being the number one Chesapeake in conformation but that sadly didn't happen. She received a number of Total Dog awards as well. She was an all-around versatile Chessie. Her legacy will live on, and I can only home my Snapper can be half as good as her momma. She has her momma's personality so we will never forget Carmelita.

My deepest sympathy goes out to The Pawlisch's our hearts break with yours.

May she forever sniff cakes and eat all the chocolate ones up above.
