I train all our dogs to the highest level in the German system(VGP)before we breed any dog.

Goals are important when training your dog. When I started at 8 weeks old with Hugh. My goal was to enjoy him, have fun and try to complete each test in one year. We had are good days and bad days. To watch him grow and mature this year has been fun. This year we started VJP with a 73 (sight loud), then we went to VGP, he earned a 285 PZ 3, then we had two HZP 180/186 all before he turned 2. Hugh was lucky enough to be top dog at 2026 Oberlander. The hard work of all the training paid off!! goals were met!! We Couldn't have done it without the help from the people who came to training days. Its time we enjoy all the hard work. It is time to hunt and chase these birds. Next year breed show BTR. Couldn't be happier for the performance that Helga and Havoc did at the HZP today. The conditions was hot and dry. Sedric and Cody Tolliver are both first time handlers. To be able to watch them grow as dog handlers, working hard all summer has paid off. Thanks guys for sticking with it. Hugh also did a great job today.

Over the weekend at the VGP I was able to test with Dyllan and Forest. Forest is from our F litter. To be able to watch these two work together was a great couple days. Dyllan has been putting in lots of hard work training all summer. Dyllan and Forest had a great couple days. The VGP level is the top of all testing levels. They didn't have the best ending of the day. But they will always be a team. I know Dyllan will enjoy Forest on the SD Prairie and the swamps. Thanks Dyllan for being a great dog handler , and trusting me with one of our dogs. You both are a great team great work.

What a long two days in North Dakota. Hugh did his job both days. The mistakes we made were my fault for not trusting him. Big thanks for all the judges for taking the time to evaluate Hugh. Hugh was able too finish the VGP before the HZP. This H litter has been showing some great talent and stability.

Training season is coming to a end. This summer has been fun training and meeting new handlers and working with some good friends. Its been a long summer it feels like we have some great days and some bad days. Its been fun watching Sedric and Helga grow as a team. To see the dedication he has for his dog and the work he has done on his own is amazing. Doing the work yourself is the most satisfying thing no matter how things go. Huge thanks to everyone who has helped put on training days, who has helped me out with my dogs, the amount of people who have also been nice to Sedric and welcome him into the dog world I know he enjoys seeing everyone. If you are testing this fall best of luck everyone.

Puppies aren't for everyone. If you don't have the time to expose them or train them. Your best option is finding a started dog. Started dogs are already through the pup stages ready for a hunting season they are expose to birds, gun fire, ect.....

Darrell is on the table. Time to learn basic obedience commands. I like to start to teach Sit, Down (platz)and walking up and down the table. I dont relay over to the whistle at this time. Just want him to know what I am asking him for and to do it. No collar pressure just simple commands
