It’s dental day for some of the herd!

Some of our campers even got the chance to feel Luna’s sharp teeth before Dr. Schubert filed them down. Maybe they will be our future veterinarians!

Did you know that a horses’ teeth never stop growing? As they chew, they naturally grind down most of the tooth. But sharp points develop when they do not wear down evenly. So a veterinarian or equine dentist needs to file the sharp spots before they cut the inside of the horses’ cheeks.

These students had a ton of fun pretending to ride the sand dunes of Lake Michigan during their lesson last week.

Happy 30th Birthday to the horse who started it all — Charley!! 🥳

Charley became Karin, our founder's, very first horse in November 2004. She began sharing him with others by giving therapeutic riding lessons and training him to become a vaulting horse!

Overtime, what began with a love for sharing one horse has turned into so much more with 25+ horses/ponies and hundreds of riders from all walks of life. Be sure to give Charley some extra love this week as we celebrate the foundation he helped Karin build 🥰

Moments of Connection and Healing

Dolly was so happy to welcome back her longtime student, J, this week. After spending most of May in the hospital overcoming several health challenges, J returned for lessons this week.

Before riding, the two shared a beautiful moment of reconnection. As J gently stroked Dolly’s face, Dolly was so relaxed she nearly fell asleep.

Beyond their deep emotional bond, therapeutic riding helps J build the core strength needed to support sitting, standing, and walking-making every ride meaningful in more ways than one.

Two hearts. Four hooves. One special connection that brings comfort, healing, and hope.

Finally - the new Viewing Room and Viewing Deck are COMPLETE!! We are so happy with how this space has turned out. It is going to provide a lovely area for birthday parties, classroom learning, and a spot to practice riding and vaulting skills in the winter months.
The previous viewing room will be turned into a lounge for our awesome staff.

Thank you our instructors and students for being so flexible with arena space while this was being built.

And a huge thank you to our selfless volunteers, Dennis and Todd, who turned our dreams into reality.

We hosted our very first Mini Horse Yoga session, and to say it was magical would be an understatement! Turns out, the secret to perfect alignment is a tiny horse grazing peacefully next to your mat.
