🎃👻 Halloween decorations can be SCARY when you’re a dog! 😂

This sweet guy wasn’t quite sure what to think about all the spooky decorations. We worked at his pace, built his confidence, and gave him the tools to make better choices.

And look at him go! 🐾👏

This is why I love training! It’s about helping them feel safe, teaching them how to work through something they find scary, and celebrating those little wins along the way. ❤️

Even the spookiest Halloween decorations can become a training opportunity! 🎃🐶

Saturday morning stroll with Hailey 🐾☀️

Yes, she’s off leash.

And no, it’s not because she’s “just a good dog.” It’s because she has proper recall and I have control of her off leash.

Off-leash freedom is a privilege earned through training, not something we should assume our dogs are ready for.

Does it take time? Yes.
Does it take consistency? Absolutely.
Does it take repetition, patience, and actually putting the work in? 100%.

If your dog does not reliably come when called, you shouldn’t be taking the leash off and hoping for the best.

Because the problem isn’t when your dog comes running back to you every time.

The problem is the ONE time they don’t.
A squirrel.
Another dog.
A person.
A deer.

A distraction you didn’t see coming.

That one moment can turn into a dangerous situation very quickly.

Training your dog to have reliable recall gives them more freedom because you’ve earned the ability to trust that freedom.

So yes, I love letting my dogs enjoy an off-leash stroll.
But that freedom didn't happen by accident.
It came from training. 🐕‍🦺

🚪🐾 Threshold Training!

This is what we mean by teaching a dog boundaries not just commands.

In this video, my client walks through the side gate from the backyard into the front yard, and watch what the dog does…

She stays behind the threshold completely on her own. No “stay.” No “wait.” No repeated commands. She has learned that the gate is a boundary she does not cross unless she is invited.

That kind of self-control is what we want to build through training. ❤️

Threshold training can help dogs learn to pause and think instead of simply following their impulse to rush through an open door or gate.

The goal isn’t obedience through constant commands, it’s teaching our dogs to make good choices even when we aren’t telling them what to do. 🐾

And THAT is a skill worth celebrating! 👏

This was our second time working with Bambi, and she's making progress. 🐕‍🦺🥰
I wish I had a video of the first time around where she absolutely lost it and was not able to calm down for a while.

At the beginning of the video, you'll see she's still struggling around another dog. This time it took us maybe 5-10 minutes. By the end, she's able to settle and lie down right next to that same dog. She was not able to lay down on her own last time around, nor calm down.

She still has plenty of work to do, but these small wins are exactly what we build on. Progress isn't about perfection. It's about building trust, confidence, and helping dogs make better choices one step at a time. 🐾

Bambi is available for adoption through Charlie’s Angels Rescue and is looking for a patient perfect home ❤️ She's amazing with people!

A visual boundary helps dogs understand where they should and shouldn't be without needing physical barriers.

In this video, I'm teaching foster pup Luka that the edge of the carpet marks the kitchen boundary. Using calm body language and a verbal cue, he quickly understands the expectation, settles, and relaxes outside the kitchen while I cook.

Clear communication = less confusion and more success. ❤️

Archie is 7–8 months old and still learning… but THIS is what progress actually looks like 👏🐾
He’s starting to correct himself when he gets too far ahead and when he doesn’t, we simply stop.
No yanking. No frustration. Just clear communication.
And honestly… the little jump back to me? 🥹❤️

Walking in the door doesn’t have to mean chaos.... It can mean relaxation and good choices.
This pup has been showing a lot of separation anxiety along with urinating when excited. He's a great pup and coming along nicely! ❤️
My clients have been amazing and working so hard! 🥰
