Second possible litter happened today. Bailey is a brindle female out of my Scarlett and Baloo is a tri male. Last year, Bailey had 8 puppies ranging from with an assortment of colors from brindle, tris, mahoganies and reds.

Leila has officially bred and if all goes well, her puppies will be born around the first week of November. I do not keep waiting lists as too many people change their minds or find puppies elsewhere while waiting. When the puppies are born and growing well, I'll let everyone know what is available. Puppies should be ready to leave around January 2nd most likely, but with the holidays and such, it will depend on vet appointments and other plans going on.

Looks like breeding season will start soon with Leila up first...

Before wanting a basenji just because they are short-haired dogs, yodel instead of full on barking, or "hypoallergenic", this is very much a typical situation you may find yourself in... chewing. While this is a more stubborn situation, it's still very typical. My armrest on my recliner has been sewn up 4 times already as well. Please please do your research about the breed before you think you want a dog that you think your allergies will be able to handle because while you may get lucky with that, basenjis are not for everyone and require much attention to keep them busy.

If anyone is looking for a basenji now, Melanie Roam had a rare summer litter with a few available if you can make the trip to Missouri.
