Coalition for Animal Rescue and Education (C.A.R.E.) We are a family based no-kill animal rescue. We take in cats, dogs, and some farm animals. C.A.R.E. provides rescue and adoption services to animals in need.

It is never too early to be cautious about summer heat. Dogs do not sweat the way we do. Dogs sweat through their paw pads and they pant.

What we may find a comfortable temperature is too hot for a dog to be left outside. It's also too hot to leave your dog in a car even at 75°. The temperature rises quickly.

Please be aware of this as it can happen so fast and then it may be too late to save them 🥺
Don't take the chance; not even for 5 minutes.

Thanks to the generosity of local animal lovers, we are headed to Cadet this morning with 11 bags of dog food, 5 bags of cat food and several monitary donations. This will help us get through the next couple weeks! Anyone still interested in donating can send food via Chewy or Walmart at any time to 16981 State Hwy E. Cadet, Mo. 63630. • Dry Purina One Dog Food– Chicken & Rice
• Dry Purina One Cat – Tender Selects Blend Chicken

Rescuing the forgotten and abused has become more and more difficult. Basic needs are a focus. Recovering from the spring tornadoes and cooling the kennels during this extreme heat, are our most recent challenges. However, seeing two of our latest adoptees, Congo and Sammy, become service dogs, has been so rewarding!
