Hello my fellow Spidey, hoggie, and mantis lovers.
It’s been a while.
I’d like to apologize for that.
Those of you that saw me at the ShowMe expo the first weekend in October may know I had an accident the last week of August.
I tumbled down a rocky incline and broke my left (which was my “good”) ankle.
That put me down for a bit but not quite out.
I wasn’t planning on doing the expo but decided to on the Thursday night before it started on Saturday.
I’m really glad I did.
I met some amazing people and a lot more of my spiders found great homes.
YAY!!!🎉
I thought maybe I was ready to get back on track.
My spider babies were growing and I had two hognose mamas in lay boxes.
Then my life slapped me across the face and said no, not yet.
Last Tuesday, the 6th, I was headed home from picking up my newest hoggie addition at FedEx and I was involved in a MVC on the hwy right before my exit and just 7 miles from my home.
I was taken by ambulance to the local University Hospital where I counted 17 staff in my ER room before going under to have a reduction of my talus bone.
Got in a room at midnight.
Had surgery on 10/08 by the same ortho trauma surgeon that put my right ankle and wrist back together 10 years ago. BTW i broke the left foot/ ankle as i did in August.
Came home 10/09.
Oh and guess what? If my luck wasn’t bad enough…. My two mama hoggies that were in their lay boxes, laid and ate their eggs while I was in the hospital 😭😭😭😭.
I’m not giving up but needless to say, i need some time, thoughts, prayers please.
