Focus on Ferals Our mission is to improve the quality of life for all community cats, including feral cats who have the least resources and avenues for help.

We do this through Trap-Neuter-Return, and an adoption program for homeless, friendly cats. Being either born in the wild and never having had human contact, or reverting to a wild state after having been abandoned; the great majority of feral cats cannot be tamed. Generally, attempts at taming or adoption of ferals prove to be fruitless. Our efforts can be realized one-hundred-fold if we do the g

reatest good for the greatest number of ferals by stopping the cycle of reproduction. Communities can help these forgotten cats by providing them with food, water, shelter, and spaying/neutering services through the "Trap-Neuter-Return" full management program. Briefly, TNR consists of the humane trapping, sterilization, and return of feral cats to their familiar habitat to be cared for daily by dedicated volunteers. Kittens under eight weeks and/or tame cats are placed into adoption programs.

Tommy Update!

Thanks to your generosity, we have $2000 of his bill covered! He was discharged with the feeding tube on Tuesday. He has been doing better than expected! His adopters are fostering him through this period and are eager to officially adopt when it’s possible. He is even eating small amounts on his own. He definitely knows he is loved. We remain optimistic for a full recovery 💜.

We will be getting new management‼️

Romeo has secured a promotion but he hasn’t formally announced it yet. This might be a situation where he just doesn’t show up for work one day….

He’s graciously put together this virtual tour of our shelter…in hopes of drumming up new staff to help in his absence. We currently have several shifts that are understaffed and need help. If you’re open to working a minimum of 2 shifts per month (4 hours each shift), and are at least 18, please be in touch!

Romeo hasn’t always taken his management role seriously. He’s honestly been more concerned with the perks, than with his performance. But we have an amazing shelter because of the volunteers who show up and clean every day of the year! Tommy needs your help ❤️‍🩹

We always have a handful of cats here who just become ‘everyone’s cat’ amongst our volunteer staff. They usually have sad intake stories, struggle to get settled in, and then become an absolute favorite. Tommy is one of those cats.

Just as we had an adoption pending with the son of a volunteer….Tommy crashed. He’s been hospitalized since Saturday, diagnosed with fatty liver. He now has a feeding tube. And, he may also have a bladder stone. Talk about having the deck stacked against you. Despite all that, Tommy is still happy to see his shelter family when they visit and we’ve had volunteers go each day to make sure he knows he hasn’t been abandoned.

We are already $2,800 deep into this, and it appears he will be hospitalized another couple of days at minimum. If things go well, we hope he can be discharged mid week, for further care at a foster home. We could really use some help with this unexpected bill. Tommy is still hanging in there, so we will stay the course.

Ducky is still waiting 🕰️

As the weekend commences and many people look forward to a couple days of rest and relaxation, shelter cats still wait.

For someone to choose them.
For a place they can feel at peace.
For a final destination in this world.

A shelter is meant to be temporary. And we do all that we can to make it comfortable no matter how long a cat is with us. But for senior cats especially, the clock ticks. They’re already old and life is never certain.

❤️ UPDATE!! 🐾 Quinoa, now called Bailey's & Cream or just Baz to make it simple, is doing just fine. She loves running around and playing with her older sisters. She loves wrestling around and laying with our other longhair cat the most, they are kindred spirits, they always look for each other every morning now when it's breakfast time and love following each other around. Baz loves her Mom a lot, especially climbing on her chair and resting on her shoulders when she's working, we've also learned that she loves the kick sticks we have, they have catnip in them and she loves kicking at them and rolling around with them!

❤️UPDATE!🐾Miso is doing fantastic! Her name is now Cessilee. She is the smartest, most confident and independent kitten I've ever raised. She's like a full grown cat in a tiny body. She moved right in and claimed me immediately 💜

My 9yo Tuxedo accepted her on day 4, and she was bumping noses with my 9yo Orange tabby on day 7. Her favorite things (besides food!) are watching the birds at the feeder with her new siblings, commandeering the cat tree, and dive bombing toys by shooting out of her tunnels like a canon ball. She's a little lovebug and lap cat when it suits her. She's an absolute joy! A few photos attached. She started playing with my Orange last week and they love doing zoomies together throughout the house.

❤️UPDATE!! 🐾Jasmine has been seeming right at home!
She likes face pets, mouse toys, and wet food. She is very playful and snuggly. And she stays close to us…and enjoys a freshly made bed (by plopping in the middle of it!).

Nothing crazy to report! So far she’s been a great little kitten. Many thanks!!

❤️UPDATE!!🐾 Thank you for reaching out though! We’ve been super excited to send over an update.

Watching Bertram get comfortable in our home has been such a thrilling experience. He’s such a unique cat. We get greeted loudly upon returning home, and then he immediately goes in for pets and snuggles. I’ve never had a cat that openly enjoyed the presence of people as much as he does. His curiosity and playfulness are some of our favorite things - he’s selective with most cat toys, but will go crazy for a stick under a blanket.

The work you all did in the few months that he was under your care blows me away - It’s hard to imagine him hissing and lunging at others. He is so gentle and loving.

We did get him set up with a vet, and he’s in good health! It’s also been a fun journey trying to find food that he enjoys. It’s a work in progress, but we’re thankful that we have gravies and Purina hairball to fall back on. A few days ago, we learned that he’s a huge fan of Stella’s carnivore cravings - big win!

Anyways - we’re beyond ecstatic to have him here with us. Thank you again for everything. Hope you enjoy the pics!

❤️UPDATE!! 🐾 Solana is doing wonderfully. She warmed up quickly and is more of a dog than a cat sometimes. Sometimes she attaches herself to my ankles following me around, always wanting to be in the same room. Her favorite toys are little mice and the laser pointer. She’s the best little friend I could have ever wanted :)))
