Hey everyone, this is an update from the ranch 💛
We are doing okay and working hard to get back to some sense of normalcy. All of the horses and animals are doing well, and we are so thankful for that.
We now have electricity in the horse trailer, which has been a huge blessing. We still do not have power in the barn yet, so we are currently running a generator out there to take care of the animals. The good news is we finally got our water hooked up, and we are able to use our well again instead of running a hose from our neighbor’s house. That has been a big step forward.
We are currently about three weeks behind on school. Between losing our laptops in the fire and everything we’ve been dealing with, it has been a challenge. Our professors have been incredibly understanding, and we are doing everything we can to catch up. Our local Emergency Management Director was kind enough to loan us a computer, so Heather and I are taking turns using it to get our work done.
Right now, some of the dogs are staying with us in the horse trailer while others are being housed in the barn. We also lost several of our wooden posts and some fencing in the fire, and we are hoping to start replacing those soon.
We are in the middle of working through the insurance process, which has been overwhelming. We are having to catalog every single item we lost, and it is a very difficult task. Every time we start, we are reminded of something else that is gone. The hardest losses are the things that can never be replaced, family heirlooms that have been passed down for generations. The destruction from a house fire is something we would not wish on anyone.
We want to thank each and every one of you for your love, prayers, and support. We are okay on clothes and most essentials right now, and we truly appreciate everything that has already been given. There are still many things we need, but we simply do not have room for everything at the moment.
For those who have asked, we have added some needed items to our Amazon wishlist:

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support means more than we can ever put into words, and it is helping us take the next steps toward rebuilding our home and our lives.
We love you all and appreciate you more than you know 💛
