Our pack will be shining with a little less light after the loss of two amazing campers in the past few weeks- Jester and Hugo.

Although they belong to different families, the things we can say about them are remarkably similar: Both ball-fiends who were always ready for a round of fetch even as they aged. Both sweet, social boys with hearts of gold who started in camp at a young age and remained loyal farm dogs right to the end.

I know I speak for the whole team when I say it was a privilege to know them for so many years and we'll be feeling their loss down in the camp yards. Rest easy good boys ♥️♥️

Reminder that we are closed tomorrow, Monday Sept 7, in observance of Labor Day.

A reminder to Hiccup specifically that digging holes to hunt chipmunks is not, in fact, a traditional way to celebrate Labor Day 😑

We know many residents are concerned about Maye and are eager to help bring her home. We share that goal and understand how upsetting these situations can be for both the owner and the community.

One question we’ve received is why a humane trap has not yet been set. Traps are most effective when a dog has settled down to a specific area and is repeatedly returning to the same location. At this time, Maye has been reported in multiple areas throughout the city and continues to travel significant distances. Setting a trap before a dog has settled into a predictable area can be ineffective and may even cause the dog to move on before a successful capture can occur.

The current priority is gathering accurate sightings, identifying travel patterns, and allowing the dog to become comfortable in a consistent area. Once a pattern develops, a targeted trapping plan can be implemented if appropriate.

If you see Maye:
• Do not chase, call, whistle, or attempt to follow.
• Do not post sightings, please report them to the owner.
• Note the exact location, direction of travel, and time of sighting.
• Report the sighting immediately.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, cooperation, and concern as we work toward a safe recovery. Thank you to everyone who is helping keep an eye out, this community is amazing! 🐾🩷
