Get ready for a walk down memory lane: March 29, 1996, Riding Right Farm began. 30 years ago! It started with 8 stalls, 3 horses, a long/narrow indoor arena, a falling down outdoor arena and the naive dream of providing a place to bring horses and people together.
Now with 30 stalls, a dressage sized indoor arena, and countless other upgrades, replacements and repairs this farm has been a test of survival. It's also been a place of amazing memories, incredible horses and most importantly, the people who love connecting with the thrilling experience of being on a horse.
There are thousands of photographs that document the hundreds of riders and horses that have come to know the farm. The posted photos are but a handful and can hardly do justice to the 10,950 days that stalls have been cleaned (literally), horses have been fed and watered and riders who have swung their leg over a horse. We've had plenty of "remember that time..." and since the door is still open it seems like we'll have a few more memories to make. Thanks to all who have been a part of this. It's been quite a ride.

We've got some riders at this farm who proved today that it takes more than a brutal winter to keep them out of the saddle. It was our first clinic of the year and our committed riders were shining examples that learning never stops. Huge improvements from last fall to this spring for everyone. Clinician Allie King is non-stop energy and gives solid attention to what's important. So nice to see great riding and happy horses.

Wrapping up 2025 with our Fall Dressage Show and it doesn't get much better than this. Sunshine, 70 degrees and a perfect day to get the babies out to their first show and help others find confidence and new experiences in the show ring. From Intro A to Fourth level, Working Equitation and Western Dressage. Congrats to Heather Waite for bringing home high score of the day with 71%! A huge shout out to the volunteer crew who did arena set-up/break-down, scoring, scribing and everything in between.

This weekend we wrapped up our last rated show of the season with some sweet highs. The big win at GMHA-Ciara Wardwell on her new (super talented but super challenging) mount Winston. She won overall Training Level Champion (JR/YR) with a score of 71.2%. Her first real show with this guy. Wow!! For us it was a sea of stunning chestnuts (hard to believe we could bring 8 chestnuts to a show!), and thank goodness one black beauty just to give us a color break. Great scores, great rides. Lots of smiles. What a way to wrap up the show season.

A bit of a homecoming this weekend. For folks who remember the old farms of the area, the Goodrich Farm was on the forefront of the Quarter Horse breeding world some 60 years ago. That farm is now this farm! And we had the pleasure to welcome back none-other than Pam Goodrich to the farm for a knockout clinic. She's a standout leader in dressage, bringing a wealth of insightful and powerful training ideas. It was an amazing learning opportunity and it might take a few days to recover!

Get ready for a big one: The farm's Youth Dressage Team is reveling in the feeling of how hard work and perseverance can pay off in a huge way.
Results from the 26th Annual D4K Youth Dressage Festival- Overall Champion Team: Maya Ryan, Petra Sederstrom, Valentina Culnen, Bella Perkins. Take note, this is the 3rd year in a row for this amazing win.
Individual Reserve Champion- Bella Perkins. Riding at 4th Level she also brought home the Stable Management Award for a record 3rd time in a row, Big Ben Award for highest written test score (99%) and so many others she couldn't hold all the trophies at once! Anyone who knows Bella knows she deserves it all. The entire team looks to her for guidance and inspiration and she delivers every time.
Blue Ribbon Team (3rd overall) Helena McGowan, Ciara Wardwell and Priya Roopnarine (who also won her division).
We'll let pictures tell the rest of the story.

It's true that "experience"(whether good or less than ideal) leads to more confidence and that was very evident this weekend at the GMHA Summer Show. Seven riders from the farm made a strong showing and the difference between June and July is notable. Higher scores, more smiles, and more understanding that this is one tough sport. Congrats to all and a special shout out to Ciara Wardwell for getting her final qualifying score for Regional Championships.
