Things are expensive for everyone right now, and they’re expensive for us at Foolish Acres Inc. too. As the 501(c)(3) nonprofit behind Packard Meadows, we rely heavily on donations to help us care for all of the animals who call the farm home.
Of course, their basic needs always come first — food, proper care, supplies and everything it takes to keep them happy and healthy. But when costs go up, some of the “extras” are the first things that have to move to the bottom of the priority list. And unfortunately, that often means treats and some of the little things our animals really enjoy.
We’ve put together a Tractor Supply wish list with items that would be a huge help to us and, more importantly, to the animals. If you’re in a position to purchase something from the list, whether it’s something big or something small, we would be incredibly grateful. Every single donation means there’s one less thing the farm has to purchase and more of our resources can stay focused on caring for the animals.
We completely understand that not everyone is in a position to donate right now. Even sharing this post and our wish list can help it reach someone who may be able to.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support Foolish Acres Inc., Packard Meadows and, most importantly, our animals. We truly couldn’t do what we do without the people who believe in this place. ❤️🐐🐴🐷🐓

ANOTHER UPDATE THAT IS INCREDIBLE!!!
I just got off the phone with Dash's breeder, owner, and trainer in British Columbia! Frank Barroby is now 83 years old! He was an honored trainer in Canada. You should see the articles written about him!
Anyway, I called him to let him know that "Rainbow Dash" is alive and well! He said he has never had anyone call and say, "I have one of your horses," and he thanked me and asked if I could possibly send pictures! Damn right I will!
I explained that for the past year, he had been loved and cared for by Phoenix Rising Equine Rescue. Karla, he asked me to thank you for making sure he was safe. I told him that I had been told that he was loved for 10 years and that, sadly, due to the owner's situation, she needed to find him a new home. Then I explained that since I am mostly a racehorse rescue, Phoenix Rising contacted us when they thought he might need a different kind of situation.
Sometimes ex-owners are happy to hear about their old horses, and sometimes they don't care. THIS MAN CARES! And YES ... I am crying happy tears!

Just a quick update on "Rainbow Dash"! He is 21 years old and such a sweetheart! A retired racehorse born in BC! Dash is now part of a "Quartet"! Alex, Indy, Flash, and Dash are inseparable! I would like to commend Phoenix Rising Equine Rescue for knowing that Dash might need a different situation. He is doing great here! He is in and out of the barn for breakfast and dinner, and spends the other 22 hours chomping grass, gorging on round bales, and just loving his life! Thanks again to Phoenix Rising Equine Rescue for contacting us!
