🐔❄️ With another stupidly cold winter ahead of us (or so they’re predicting 🙄), let’s talk about keeping our chickens warm!

I know many believe chickens are perfectly fine in freezing temperatures as long as they have a dry, draft-free coop. But I’ve always questioned that a little. I mean, has anyone actually asked the chickens? 🤣 Just because they can survive the cold doesn’t necessarily mean they’re comfortable!

We personally provide supplemental heat for our Silkies, but I know plenty of people don’t, and I ain’t judgin! 🤗

I’m curious how everyone else handles winter! Do you heat your coops? What tips and tricks have you learned to keep your flock warm, dry, and comfortable?

Let’s share some ideas and learn from each other without turning it into a chicken fight club. 😂❤️🐔

I know most of you are here for the chickens, but I’m curious about something! 🤣

As some of you know, I’ve also been making handmade chunky blankets, and I’m thinking about doing a little waffle for one of them!

I know how much y’all love the egg waffles, so I figured why not see if there’s any interest in a cozy blanket too?!

I’d keep the spots at $5 or less, and shipping would be included if you’re not local!

If something I post gets you so butt hurt that you feel the need to write me a whole damn novel in the comments, especially when you’ve clearly missed the entire point of what I was saying, I’m just gonna tell you right now…

I ain’t reading all that. 🤣

Seriously. My eyes start glazing over, my attention span has left the building, and the few brain cells I have left are begging me not to waste them.

It’s not that I don’t appreciate a difference of opinion. I actually enjoy hearing other perspectives! But some of y’all take yourselves and everything else WAY too seriously.

Not everything needs to turn into a debate. Not everything requires a 14-paragraph explanation of why you think you’re right. And for the love of all things holy, not everything is that damn deep. 😂

Sometimes you can just disagree and move on. It’s really that simple.

And here’s another little fact for ya…

Just because you know a whole lot about something doesn’t mean you understood a single thing I said. 🙃

I’m not here to argue with strangers on the internet. I have chickens to feed, things to do, and a limited amount of brain space available for nonsense.

So by all means, write your novel if it makes you feel better. Just don’t expect me to read it.

And if this post makes you want to write me another novel explaining why I’m wrong… well, bless your heart. You’ve missed the point AGAIN. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣
