Our snake clinic is more than snake training. First of all, it’s the best snake training around… Dogs are exposed to multiple species of snakes, and they are introduced to them and corrected when recognizing upon sight, upon hearing, and upon smell. A new component of training was added last year, which is exposing the dog to a moving rubber snake on a string being pulled across an open lane and for those of you that have dogs like mine who want to Chase and catch things moving on the ground, it is vital.

In addition to that, Susan Lowry and Teri Swanson will be available to talk about the benefit benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in the unfortunate event that your dog gets bitten anyway, and the wide variety of applications that hyperbarics can be useful in.

I will also be there providing complimentary nutrition consultations for anybody that is interested in learning about raw feeding, home cooking, or other ways you can add value to your dogs diet. ANY NEW and EXISTING CLIENTS WHO ENROLL WILL RECEIVE a 10% discount on their October delivery!

Mid Day Snack! CHICKEN FEET are a huge crowd pleaser around here. During today’s deliveries, we had a good friend and long-term Client trade a couple bags of raw chicken feet for dried chicken feet that her dog prefers. My kiddos were happy to have the returns today. 🐤

Moisture content.  What difference does it make?

The moisture content of a raw product affects the nutrition profile (protein and fat content and calories) and can radically impact the overall volume that must be fed to meet the dogs’ needs. Also worth nothing that how beef is sourced (in other words what did the cow eat - grass, corn, GMO corn, etc) also affects nutritional value. Corn fed = higher sugar content in the meat, lower protein and omega content. That means you have to feed more volume to get the same calories and supplement omegas vs. grass fed.

The photos below were taken 2h 30m apart to showcase the minimal moisture in our nutrient- and calorie-dense Raw All Beef for Dogs blend. No big “moisture” puddles!

Cost per pound is not a relevant shopping/comparison metric. Cost per dog per day is!

So. Do you buy those expensive greens powders and juices? I make my own! Today I am kind of clearing out the refrigerator and trying to think fun things to do for the dogs with stuff that otherwise is going to be thrown away. The first photo is a combination of papaya, mango, watercress, spinach, tomatoes, and a strawberry banana protein shake I bought on sale for myself, but didn’t love! To that I added, Reishi mushroom, L glutamine, and mustard seed.

The second photo is a combination of honey, vanilla yogurt, green beans, mustard seed, and broccoli florettes that have been shaved and allowed to sit for an hour to allow the micro nutrient profile to develop, avocado, turmeric & black pepper, green bean, and bacon grease!

If you happen to have ice cube trays, you could freeze these into cubes, but my guys eat it right off the spoon!

I find that anything green we have to build general enthusiasm by giving to the Stanley the Lab first… And then the shorthairs will follow😂. Needless to say, the brown concoction with bacon grease was the biggest hit. BOTH serve great nutritional purpose!
