There’s been so many cool things happening these last couple months and I just had to put a spotlight on this dude really quick!
I walked into an extremely unique situation when I started working with JD, quite literally unlike any behavioral case I had worked up to that point. His owner told me on more than one occasion, “If he would just let me walk him, I’d be happy. That’s all I want.”
And BY GOLLY I was going to make that happen
We started small (and I mean… small 😅). Being able to hear Todd move around the house without panicking, eat in the same room, then sit on the same couch. Now, he leashes JD up by himself and gives him some pets before they head off together.
From the outside looking in, it probably just looks like an ordinary walk… except it came after almost 2 years of battling owner-directed reactivity.
Being able to take ‘just an ordinary walk’ when you know where the dog started, and how hard they had to work to get there just makes everything that much more meaningful.
Great job you guys ❤️🐾
