Whispering Pines Labradors is a small, country kennel that believes the bond between a person and a dog is a blessed experience. This experience begins with the choice of an appropriate healthy dog and a commitment to care for him or her. Many people who are looking for one, already have an idea of what they want in a dog. social dog, therapy dog, companion dog, a trickster or just a wonderful family dog we try to fit the puppy to the owner and purpose and that’s what makes the difference. Whispering Pines Labradors is located at Burlington, Colorado, about 175 miles east of Denver on I-70. They are dedicated to preserving health, conformation and intelligence while representing one of the finest lines of pedigree in the hunting world. Labs bred at Whispering Pines Labradors are represented in hunting competitions of both water fowl and upland birds. My dogs live in my house with me and are considered family. Puppies are born either in my house in a whelping crate or in one of two out buildings (The Puppy Palace or The Canine Castle) in a controlled environment. By the time they are 5 weeks old, they have learned to use the pet door to explore the great outdoors in a large puppy yard exclusively for them. At 6- 7 weeks they are allowed to intermingle with my dogs. They soon find their way to my house where they are introduced to crate training. That is, they discover the fun of dragging toys into a dog crate to play, to love the security and comfort offered by the crate, thus are virtually crate trained when they leave here. They have learned how to socialize with other dogs. They are handled daily from birth. At 8 weeks they go to their forever home, happy, healthy and well socialized. All of my dogs are hip certified through OFA good or excellent. DNA test are done to avoid inherited forms of blindness (PRCD and RD) as well as EIC (exercise induced collapse). The puppies are guaranteed healthy when they leave here.
