It’s with great sadness that another one of the original shop dogs, Makensie, has passed the rainbow bridge. Kenny was one of the funniest little dogs around with the biggest personality. She always knew exactly what she wanted & how to get it! She was also quite the fashionista enjoying her trips to TJ Maxx with her mom and sporting new harnesses often. The shop won’t be the same without her. RIP Kenny. We love you. ❤️🌈❤️

Cork has only been with us since yesterday, and already this tiny little soul is fighting harder than any eight week old puppy ever should have to.

When he arrived, we thought we were taking in a baby Boston Terrier with a wonky back leg. That felt manageable. That felt like something we could wrap our arms around and say, okay little buddy, we’ve got you now.

But rescue never really works like that.

Because apparently one special need was not enough for this tiny, three pound child. Cork decided to come to us with aspiration pneumonia too, and today he was sick enough he had to be rushed to the emergency vet.

He left feeling really awful, and there is just something especially heartbreaking about a puppy this small struggling. He should be playing. He should be tumbling around without a care in the world. Instead, he is scared and simply trying to breathe and with aspiration pneumonia it can go south quickly on a puppy this fragile already.

This is the part of rescue that rips the air right out of your chest. The part where you look at a fragile little body and wonder how something so tiny can carry so much.

We named him Cork.

And right now, Cork needs time, care, a foster, and every bit of strength he can gather. We are not accepting adoption applications on him at this time. Right now his job is simply to make it through this and heal.

Please keep this tiny boy in your thoughts tonight. He is so very small, and today felt very big. But together we got this and him. Your support with sharing, donations and praying, helps him fight and be pitbull strong.
